So I have decided I should consider a better headset as my current pair are quite old and they were only R350 (Speedlink Coniux and the microphone is super good for the price. Audio is decent as well at this price).

So can anyone recommend headsets between R800 - R1400 that will be quite decent for gaming and audio listening. Generally I tend to listen to music while using my desktop as well as play games. Also hoping for decent sound stage or at least the ability to differentiate different audio queues like footsteps in FPS. I owned a pair of Corsair Vengeance 1500 virtual 7.1 (before the Speedlinks) and they were such a lekka pair of headphones comfort wise (weight wasn't too much of an issue).

List of models I have seen already but not sure which to go for:
Corsair HS50 Pro Stereo (solid reviews!)
Corsair VOID Elite USB
Corsair HS60 Pro surround
Kingston Hyper X Cloud Stinger
Logitech G432
Turtle Beach Atlas One
Cooler Master MH751
Sennheiser GSP 300

Bit of a side note, I also have a PS4 and being able to use these on there would be a bonus but not a serious requirement as I do have a pair of Sennheiser HD419 that I use on there at the moment. (These are headphones so no mic but I don't chat to people when playing on PS4, just singleplayer games or local multiplayer).

second hand R500 cannot do you wrong on one of these. The pads get super comfy after some wear-in.

Been using the Corsair HS50's for a few months now - they are fine enough for their price. The sound is neutral (maybe underwhelming in my opinion). Mic is also a bit soft, so you probably have to fiddle with sound settings to get it up to par.

As other carbies have mentioned, I've heard good things about the Cooler Master MH751 and the Sennheiser GSP300, so maybe consider those if their price is within your budget.

Thanks for your input, this does help with choosing between these and the now mentioned Cooler Master MH751/MH752 and Sennheiser GSP 300. I think due to your input on the Mic for these Corsairs, I'll keep them as my price conscious pair (saw some brand new ones on the forum for R700 which means they are quite cheap compared to the others).

Last time we had this thread, this seemed to me to be the winner.

Wow, these have been mentioned before on forums and now again multiple times.Their comfort factor and Mic quality seem superb as well as decent audio quality. They also seem quite versatile with the fact that the 4 pole extension is default and a splitter is included for desktop use.

Overall I'm now quite heavily convinced on the MH751 I just feel the audio control on the cable is the slight downfall. Removeable mic will be a bit of an adjustment as I am used to having the arm. I also don't really need these to be dedicated portable headphones, so detachable mic isn't like a complete necessity for me.

Is the only major difference between MH752 and MH751 the virtual 7.1? I'd rather stick with the stereo model????

Also, I'm not that keen on second hand headphones. If going second hand, would I be able to replace the ear pads on these? Seems Sennheiser GSP 300 one can find replacements a lot easier.

I have the black pair.

Very happy with the comfort, sound and mic quality. Also, big head friendly because I gave the headset to my dad for his meetings due to working from home.
These seem really great, I also already own a pair of Sennheisers for music and know the quality of the products which is swaying me to spend the little bit extra to get these (see they are R1500 at Wootware).

Overall I think I have been given some great stand out headsets in this price range.
So far:
Corsair HS50 (R850 - Raru)
Cooler Master MH751 (R1050 - Raru)
Sennehiser GSP 300 (R1500 - Wootware)

The Sennheisers are beyond what I wanted to spend maximum and are creeping into the territory of other headphones or the possibility of finding a premium pair at a great price slightly used.

Thanks to everyone for their input
