Sure, you'll get the respect that comes with owning a nice looking car. But as for teaching the "hatch-loving race boys" a lesson... there are plenty of hot hatches (with minor mods) that will eat you for breakfast.

The power-weight ratio is not on your side. But alas I digress, this is not a hot hatch and should not be compared with such.

I always remember that it doesn't matter how fast your car is there is always a citi golf that's faster. But mod for mod most hot hatches wouldn't be an issue except for the ones with R or RS in the name, and all of them are quite a bit more expensive.

RS3, Golf 7R and new Civic Type R should be quicker (stock). S3, Leon Cupra would be about the same with a few mods. I've seen some strong Mazda 3 mps too. Gti or focus St would need some big mods. Oh and the odd big turbo cupra tdi The weight of the 335i is really not that much more than mid size hatches.

Isn't the s3 like exactly the same as the 7R? Videos I watched they had near identical tack and drag times. And the rs3 is slowet than them on track.

Apparently so. Odd because I've had runs with S3's numbers wise they should probably win but they haven't. That being said the runs extended into the area where 3.0 has longer legs. Surely an RS3 would be quicker than an S3 though?

One more hot hatch not to take on would be an A45, and probably the CLA45 too.

Yea you're right. The 7R was .5s fater than the rs3 in the video I watched and the s3 seems to be 1s slower than the 7R in most tests so...

Yea they are really cool cars. A friend took me drifting in his 135 and it was epic also pushed it to 260kph. I've also had rides in the 328, 335, 435 and 535 all great cars but I would take the rs3 just on personal preference of the noise that 2.5 TFSI makes :O

I've never even been 260 or close to it in my life[emoji14]I'm more like Captain slow lol. Too scared to go more than 160 normally.
Rs3 sound is awesome (and TTRS).

Same here. I love the small bursts of speed in town so now and then, but Highway sees me at 140 to 150 max. In my scenic oddly enough 160 feels like 120, so irritating when you are relaxed and not on speedo cruise lol.

Best keep it that way lol. My one friends dad took me for a spin in a R8 but I'll rather not say how fast we went. Wrote off my Clio rs at around 110 and it was a terrible experience so cant image what would have happened in the R8... now I take it suuuuuper chilled.

Lol the weird thing is the bmw is super stable at even 200 (most of taken it to, on a private road of course) and then when I drive a rental or something I do 80 because it's scary going faster...

You need to compare it to a 335 with minor mods. xhorst and remap. Then it is a different game.

When I was in Cape Town, had a 1.3 citi golf as a rental. Drove from durbanville to the city where I stayed, like 11PM at night. Was going 180 in that golf and a gust of wind picked me up from the middle lane and put me gently on the right lane. After that I drove 100 lol. F**K that was scary.

True. Plenty of mods available for the 35i.I think the main limiting factor on the 35i is the relatively small turbo. You can get a bigger turbo then you're looking at around 350wkw with the other usual mods. Then I don't think you'll have many challengers.

That's advertised at 523whp = 390wkw and from various forums etc this doesn't seem to be a "marketing number". That being said that's obviously a run with octane boosters or high octane fuel so not really a "daily" figure.
