The biggest problem with COD on PC is the amount of hackers and the fact that the defs don't really do anything about it.
I stopped playing COD WW2 because I would run into the same hackers every 2nd match I would join.
Reporting doesn't do shit, in the end everyone just leaves the lobby.
And the hackers knows there's no repercussion, they just laugh and continue to wallhack and aimbot away.
I highly doubt that changing storefronts, steam to battle.net, is gonna change this in any meaningful way.
AND the SA COD community has pretty much died down.

The PC community is certainly dead, unfortunately. But I still play WW2 on PS4 a few nights a week and never have a problem finding a game. The Black Ops 4 beta has also been extremely populated, get games instantly for all modes.

Agreed, if you want to play and enjoy COD, PS4 and Xbox is the only way. Less hacking, if at all and larger playerbase.
If only they would implement the mouse and keyboard support I would be all over it, but controller for FPS games, I don't think so.

The PC community is not dead. They are just waiting for a proper game that actually works and not a broken half assed game where they aren’t being milked as fuck for every penny through micro-transactions and DLC.

You’ll find quite a few players still playing Black Ops 2 and there’s even some Modern Warfare 3 games going sometimes.

And there has been some word from a big COD youtuber that Modern Warfare 4 is coming next year. If they can pull that game off without screwing the community they will get their playerbase back on PC.

I do have my doubts about Black Ops 4. It looks like they are still trying to milk the community for every penny they can and that shit is just not on. But on the other hand from what I have seen the game looks really fun and some welcome changes have been made to the bullet impact system and matchmaking.

Just hoping that the PC version is not a broken mess again. Will see tonight. Waiting for my private beta code.

This right here, is why COD on PC is dead.
That wont change, not in the near future. The current model brings too much money from the consoles and they wont have two different models, one for console and one for PC where the DLC is free. The outcry from the console players would be deafening. And im pretty sure that consoles are the main source of income for them.
And yes, I know that BO2 still has a playerbase, but COD as a franchise on PC is dead.

I really hoped they did not make this any game service specific, and went back to how cod mw was, Dedicated servers no steam, battle.net etc. Where there is still a punkBuster ( If i remember correctly. )

I absolutely loved it. It was really great. The last decent COD MP was Black Ops 2 and this is far better than that.

Movement and gunplay feels great.

Game ran smooth as butter. No microstutters, no lag whatsoever. Ran it at max graphic settings. In previous COD games you would actually get some mouse lag from having stuff like shadows set to high. That has been addressed. Aim is 100% smooth.

No bug experiences from my side which was quite surprising.

My only gripe was with some of the weapon balancing and the specialists. Sniper rifles and assault rifles felt weak as SMG’s would outgun you even on long to medium range. Some specialist abilities are just OP and annoying as hell.

The manual healing takes some getting used to but it’s great. Makes the game so much more intense.

Keen to try out the battle royale.

They are definitely taking a step back in the right direction here. My faith in the franchise is not fully restored though, not until they completely remove microtransactions from the games. It seems they are still trying to nickel and dime every aspect of the game. There will be crates again. You can’t buy DLC packs separately anymore either, you need to buy the black ops pass to get access to DLC so I’m pissed about that. The disclaimer on the black ops pass also makes it pretty clear that they plan to roll out even more DLC which won’t be part of the pass so you’ll have to cough up even more for that too.

found the game to be fast paced, at times it felt like a mix between Siege and Quake 3. Was surprised as well at the good pings i was getting - even ended up in one group without south africa guys, and there was one foreigner who kept complaining that the opposition team where hacking every time he got killed and they lost the game.

found the self healing to be a cool new feature, just gotta remember to do that in cover. Was it just me or did most of the specialists sounded like they had heavy south african accents?

Played it, found it 'fun' like cods do, because after all they can be fun for awhile. It's the same fast past shooting, with the add of no longer being hit scan (well to a degree). But like the others , I believe it's better then the others, but still it will get boring.

Most people will be getting this game or waiting to order because of the Battle Royale. It's probably gonna be it's saving grace because BR's is all hyper other then BFA....

My final note, jeepers the COD community is complete garbage children -_-, I remember back in the MW2 days you use to find a bunch of awesome people. Start a clan have a good time on Friday night... Now , the first match you get into, children are just throwing around obscene language, and it's not the 'banter' that is annoying it's the fact that people start playing horribly because they would rather get into a keyboard right... Ugh just meh.

It's looking like a 6/10 and once the beta in sept for the blackout arrives we'll see what they have really been working on, because that's the true cash cow.

Bit sceptical on the BR. From what I have heard, specialist abilities will be in the BR. Alas, balance destroyed. I think Battlefield 5’s BR is going to be the king. DICE has the most experience with large maps and a large player count.

COD PC community is toxic. Got called a p*** a few times during the beta. Sad cancer boys camping with snipers and elo sights but if you are the one killing them with a shotgun you are the p**s. Go figure.

Yeah he was one of the guys...speaks english with a heavy accent as well. Some of the other guys as well do that. I thought i imagined hearing afrikaans at one point...lol

For me, i have not played any of the previous COD's in multi-player, so this was a new experience for me - hence i felt it fast paced a bit like Quake Champions with the combat speed and Siege with the classes.

I think i`ll wait on this one and get BFV 1st (if we get servers at launch)

Black Ops 3 was badly optimized for PC. Movement was also meh.

Also going to jump on that BF5 train. It looks amazing. Will split my time between Black Ops 4 and Battlefield 5. If the Black Ops 4 BR is good I’m ditching PUBG completely. When Ring of Elysium releases I’ll play that for the majority of time I’m guessing. No way Black Ops 4’s BR will beat Ring of Elysium.

South Africa uses EU region keys on Battle.net. I bought my Black Ops 4 on cdkeys and was playing the beta just fine
