If he was half as decent friend, you would have also has a S1000R by now, not true ?
where do you think he got the S1000R? i traded my S1000R on my V4S, he picked up my S1000R from World of motorcycles a few weeks later at a absolute steal!

I technically bought the S1000R from Wacko. It was his bike before he got the Panigale.

thanks to that friend that on one sunday spring day chucked his V4 keys at you... thats what friends are for...
Dude.... That one simple action caused me months of sleepless nights and frustration. But it was worth it in the end. :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: Still not a V4, but close enough.
 
Waiting for the parts to swap the brakes on my MT10 with the kit from the R1.
Should be done within the next two weeks.
So had to find an alternative mounting position for the mirrors, this was the end result;
Can see a LOT more than the normal stock mirrors.
These have some sort of anti glare coating as well, so the sun doesn't blind me from behind anymore.
I need something similar for my S1000R.

Where did you buy them dude? I am a bit nervous, as the barends at the moment are weighted to reduce vibration, what would you recommend I do to maintain the weight? Maybe these mirrors are heavy enough to replace the barends completely.
 
Custom Creations just off of Ontdekkers. Cost me like R700.

I went from full bar-ends + lever protectors to these, and I did not notice a big difference in vibrations.
That anti glare is amazing to this day, cant help but notice it.

I'm "this" close to swapping my S1000R for a 1299 Panigale. I prefer the twin over the V4. No doubt the V4 is stronger and definitely smoother.

I'm also "this" close deciding to keep my BMW because, well BMW and its still under warranty.

I committed financial suicide and decided to keep both.

They are two completely different beasts though. It's really hard to compare them to each other. Rode the BMW yesterday and today... For day to day driving and just cruising around it's stunning! The Ducati though, phew.

The BMW is compliant in almost everything it does. The 1299 is planning your death around every corner and you have to constantly convince it to spare your life. S1kr can be ridden hard or you can plutter along, the Ducati only wants one thing... And it's disgusting.

It also depends on the thrills you seek..... v4 is smooth, but if you want all out Sh&t yourself factor, the V4 is the bike for you. I had the privilege to ride my v4, and a 1299 2 weeks back on redstar. my v4 is stock road, the 1299 is a full on Battle of the Twins racing machine, and let me tell you, it felt like I was fondling a shy inexperienced 18 yo on that 1299, when I got back on my V4 it felt like I was hanging with that wild 40 yo tannie you picked up at Presley's! the thing scares the holy moses out of me every time I get on it. I LOVE IT!
that being said, my lap times (I am a absolute beginner track rider) were exactly the same on both...which says a lot about the 1299's power delivery and confidence it inspires.

Figured I would use my Hypermotard for the morning gym run....... and then I realized how happy I am I dont have to commute.
 
@Wacko_ZA and myself did 2nd and 3rd gear pulls on the V4s vs 1299 today. They are neck to neck, although I have a little bit of weight advantage.

@D3TTOL, brother........... Do it.
 
Awe peeps.

My first= scooter for work transport.

Then the bug bit me hard.

2de= 180 bajaj pulsar
3de= 650 hyosung
4th= 200 bashan semi
5th= 750 SRAD gixxer

Then everything went to SHIT.
The SRAD developed a piston slap (bend crank)
:cry::mad: Send in for repairs while i drive the semi.
Before i got SRAD back the 200's kickstart struck the gear and locked the motor (broken motor casing)....
Was stuck with no transport.

6th= 220cc bajaj pulsar (my baby) First brand spanking new first owner bike.
:giggle: Everthing ok for a few months.

Got the SRAD back and was so happy. Just to drive it for 2 months and bam same issue (machanic since skipped town after). Since it cost me like R11k to fix i had no choice but to park it. And the bashan was standing...

3 bike, 1 driving.

Then i got some moolas to fix bashan, just so another machanic to skrew me over again. Gave me n engine that lasted 3days. (. Long stori short he went to jail and i lost R6k again.)

In February 2019 a dumb fuck skipped a stop sign and drove in front of me, broken wrist ( fractured) and broke 3 toes.

Got it fixed even before i had to retuen to work. 😂👍

Its 2020 January and covid approaching. 3 operations later for my wrist. And bam they broke into my jard and steal my only working bike... And boom im totally fucked. Never got feed back from PoPo yet.

Had to sell the SRAD and bashan as is, since i lost my job for 6 months.

I'm currently so FUCKING DEPRESSED and over this country...

Sry for my language, but thats only way i can express the pain i feel about this issue.
 
Got a set of new tyres, a front suspension and wheel bearing fix and a wee software adjustment for the GSX-R today. Went out riding for the first time in a very long while (like, a year or something). Seriously need to do a breakfast run soon.

You guys are making me want to ride again, since my accident in december I only took my old cbr400rr out to the shops to see how it is, still feels like its struggling to to straighten out after leaning.

Im in the market for an older harley or other cruiser style bikes, but I am 167cm tall so my height restricts me.
