Bikers!?

Hey jy ken my nie, I don’t fuck around
Unfortunately the ex 1290 owners who made similar statements are not around anymore to tell their tales.

Wheelie time all day erry day though! :ROFLMAO: As soon as you are comfortable we should go for a brunch cruise at Zwartkops. @Wacko_ZA can bring his GS and maybe we can even convince oom carlu and some other carbies to come with. @Sub-lime bring your wife's 900.

Only running bike I have now is a pitbike, so if you're on similar, we can go break down together on a trail somewhere. Otherwise go with @Wacko_ZA maybe, just remember he is very slow (cheap bike) so you'll have to have a relaxed ride with him.
I have an NC750X, so I'm sure it's plenty capable of breaking down on a trail 😂
Keen for whatever, mainly just want to join a group ride. I rode with a MCC a while ago and they were super welcoming, friendly bunch, but things got a bit hectic when a cager did something they didn't appreciate. Would rather just take it easy with some recreational riders, Harties ride or whatever. On road or off.

I'll make sure oom Carlu joins, don't worry :D

In today's episode of Fuck around and Find out you will find out what happens when someone fucks around and finds out.

In all seriousness, that is a beaut, stay safe man :)

Just wanted to pop in and say I finally picked up my dream bike!
UPDATE:
Took her on her 1st trackday yesterday :D
I'm still speechless!

Stared in D, pack was way too slow.
Moved up to C, took 3 laps to get the tires nice up to temp, pack was still to slow...

Next time will slot into B, and go from there

Just because you mentioned the track.

I'm planning on treating a friend (and myself) to our first track day.

What did you have to do for your insurance to cover it?
My first policy I had to pay a R5k deposit just for them to consider it; but that was ridiculous.

Thinking redstar or zwartkops.

Tagging you @Wacko_ZA because you look like you live for the track.

The 1290 is no “beginner’s bike”. The entire design was to see how absurd of a bike ktm could build.
My 1290 would give my fat ass TC lights until deep in 4th gear from a standing start.
On the track the front end is extremely light and prone to washing.
Congrats on the new bike but @PandaAttack1 is right. Invest in proper training on it. Get some proper track schooling from someone like city trax.
Doing a zwartkops brunch run is NOT to be seen as training.

Also, be very careful biting off too much too soon. B groups are seen as the dangerous groups at most track days, because those are the folks that think they can, but dont really understand what they can yet. Take it easy and enjoy the riding. If you are keen let me know and we go the track on Wednesday afternoon? I will bring my RR.

For anyone in Gauteng. You MUST go to Graskop/Sabie. We had an amazing time with absolutely stunning riding. There are 100s of routes whether you are into dirt, road or both. @Wacko_ZA and myself went there this past weekend. I'm not going to bore you with details. I just want you to go!

On this, the one thing that stood out for me, was the QUALITY of the roads.
There is a lot of road works going on in the area, improving the roads, I was REALLY surprised.
Sure there is a pothole here and there, butt on a bike, at a modest speed, they really did not bother us. from chasing down a 1000RR on my GS with 50/50 tires, to just carving up the curves between Graskop and Sabie with @PandaAttack1, it was one beautiful ride.
It was a EPIC trip, 1 night just was not enough.
DO IT, GO!!!!! if you want more details feel free to ask.
I will also be posting a youtube video with some clips of our moments soon.

Hi , Im wondering if anyone knows of some green trails/off road spots for a 125 dual sport in and around Cape town mainly southern suburbs? I couldn't find anything off google and ive only been riding for around a month so im pretty much in the dark here :)

@Mordecai is right - Wild Dogs is a good forum as long as you stay away from the R&P threads.

Also, just go exploring. Some of my best rides have just been following the tiny pale white lines on google maps instead of the big yellow ones :)
Just be safe - Ideally have somebody else with you and make sure somebody knows whereabouts you'll be and when you should be back.

Thanks a ton! i will check them out later. I am glad to know there is a forum like that :)

A video (not so short) of our adventures.

Sadly my knowledge surrounding riding places in the southern suburbs is quite limited, in fact, I don't know the area well.

Parklands come to mind but as suggested, jump on to the Wild Dog Forum, I know there is a group that does the Parklands route over the weekend. Safer in groups as well.

Here is the thread if I am not mistaken:

Also, if you want to get a better idea about riding off-road, I suggest getting the series 'Say No To Slow' by Chris Birch:

Very informative and he explains it in detail. I am slowly making my way through the videos so that I can put it to the test in real-life riding.

Another thing is slow movements and good braking drills sound stupid I know but will go a long way.

The sleeping biker was priceless haha.

An interesting aspect ratio of the video.

The getaway looks nice, in the bush away from all commotion of the city. Silence is golden.

I love how smooth the GS is, sitting at 130kph+ your mirrors is dead still, when I hit 120kph+ on my G650X I cannot for the life of me make out if a car is behind me. But unfair comparison since it is an iconic boxer twin-cylinder vs single.

On the topic of KTMs, was about to give KTM a ring cause I'm gonna need some transport again only to find out what they've done with the colour schemes of the 2022 Superduke series... poefies man

The blue is hideous - no option for the signature black and black/white

Vitpilen 701.

Do it.

They're updating it with the new 901 engine used in the Norden.

Shieet. Definitely has a nice style, kinda what I'm looking for

Depending on a release, review and all that, it's either the 890 or trying to find the number of the guy who bought my Streetfighter and seeing if he'll sell it back to me

What sort of budget are you looking at?

Probably around the 200 mark. Although I'm probably the pickiest person out there. Speed triple a good bike, yep. Would I get one, nope. The front looks like Gary the snail

As far as what's actually out there at present, the only two that appeal to me are the 890 duke or the 1098 streetfighter (if I found it again in white)

I need some stern advice regarding picking up a RC390 2022 or a Ninja 400 new to begin my motorcycle journey on, yes the same question I have asked before but I finally got to see an old RC390 and a new Ninja 400 and I have to admit, the ninja looks giant compared and was a brilliant looking motorcycle.
Do you think it would be stupid to give up all the rider aids the RC390 now offers for the Ninja 400?

I am going to be on one or the other while my girlfriend is on a ZX10R... help?
