Looking for general use and gaming on a GTX1060, I have the MSI GP63

27-34" UHD preferably OLED but QLED will suffice. I like curved but not essential. Ultra wide, wide or regular is also OK

Price is not really a consideration as it is for my business, I am moving to Qatar next week and will be working remotely so I have to be comfortable.

I will be doing a lot of documentation in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio.

The Asus looks good but the lack of height adjustable is a bit of a drawback.

Any other options or advice?

Use a boring book to adjust the height.

15k on a monitor then stand it on a book and hope the book is the exact thickness you want. Hmmm, counter intuitive if you ask me.

No VESA mounting holes either so no after market stand. Seems very short sighted on 2 obvious fronts straight off the bat. That and the fact that a few reviews said it is quite hard to calibrate would probably take it off my list.

Thanks for the recommendation though Mast3rBlast3r

This would be my pick, especially if you're extensively using excel, multitasking- and if the cost is not really a consideration.

The reason why I suggested the MX34VQ is because I believe it's the best value for money premium panel currently out.

There are of course other options out there but they're either pricier or cost similar whilst being noticeably worse.

Since you wanted it for productivity I figured ultrawide would be the way to go. Plus there aren't that many 16:9 1440P panels that have VA or IPS panels and you don't want TN for productivity.

My next recommendation is the Samsung CF791. That LG you linked to would of course be first prize though if you're willing to spend that much.

Thanks again for your opinion, I think I have my sights set on the 34GK950G-B 120hz so will have to see if anywhere in Qatar has it when I get there this weekend.

Not a bad choice either :)
32" 16:9 is actually what I would have recommended if I knew you were open to it except it doesn't add any value for productivity whereas ultrawide does.

Gaming-wise, isn't the laptop 1060 a bit under-specced for that monitor?

Possibly however I have an XBox One X I do my gaming on mainly so not a big deal.

I'll have to give it a try and see what it is like.

I think the extra res and bigger real estate will make a difference, i don't use massive spreadsheets like financial analysts do and if I need wider I could just get another.

Playing Forza 7 at max detail on 2560x1440 and getting 72fps which I thought was OK

On a side note, I have always played racing games with XBox controllers but playing with keyboard now. What a MASSIVE difference, keyboard is miles better

Did you import? What was the total cost?
Bought it locally but I am in Qatar. Cost was R8400 which was a bit steep but below my budget so happy

It has exactly the same border as my UA65MU8000 and UA65NU8000 so fits in with the family :p

Actually keyboard is worse and that's because the switches have no sensitivity, it's off or on, there's no analog manoeuvring. And if you don't have NKRO then you might even be running into ghosting issues depending on how it's set up.

Though the more arcade, the more you can get away with it. NFS Hot Pursuit 2010 is indistinguishable regardless of what control you use. It's just press B and turn to slide. Whereas something the likes of GRID or Forza Motorsport likely isn't going to be very good on a keyboard (or controller for that matter).

Must just be a matter of opinion then because keyboard is more accurate for my style of play but bare in mind I am no pro.
