Can you send me your bank details?
Will make instant deposit of my next unborn batch of spawn for a 3090 :)
Once they grow their organs will be worth so much more, think of it sorta like crypto except you are the only one to have such a commodity :p

That 3060 Ti is basically the same price as one of the last GB 3080 Vision cards we sold...

Oof... And the GB 3070 Aorus master last went for R14,500

3 years of blue screening?
Thankfully I can truthfully say I haven't had a single bsod :p
That gets left to Intel.

3 years of reboots though at the rate I am going at xD

AMD doesn't bsod, it just says "fuck you, figure it out yourself"

I've placed my order for an ASUS RTX 3080 with Brutech. I made enquiries today as to when I might receive it. Apparently, the distributor informed them that it will only be around somewhere in April or May. I really hope it will be sooner, but who knows :(

You seen local AMD price/performance?

I offered a few people RX 6800 XTs yesterday. Not. One. Person. Interested. One commented that if it was R 16k or below they'd consider, but at R 20k it makes zero sense. Not with the poor RTRT performance, lack of DLSS, having to put up with AMD drivers, etc.

An NVIDIA card being a few hundred/thousand Rands more due to the required additional purchase isn't going to sway people when they're saying the AMD cards are ALREADY R 4k to R 8k too expensive.

The bad part is that NVIDIA cards can no longer be pre-ordered with the expectation of getting stock (it'll be first-to-respond-and-pay gets the stock), but also that many won't even be OFFERED the stock as ASUS will have full control of who gets what.
I actually own a few of both 6800 non xt and 3070. First I had the EVGA 3070 in my gaming pc and one day I decided to pull 6800 out of one my mining rigs and test it. 6800 runs circles around the 3070 performance wise, at least a jump of 10-15% on demanding games.

I think not many people have the opportunity like I do to actually do the comparison and they revert to youtube content praising Nvidia for DLSS bla bla which only hand full of games support anyway. RAW performance 6800 non XT is 3070 killer by far.

Mining wise it stronger as well lol
ETH 64MHs just with mild overclock and built in fast timings @117watts without undervolt. (Mild I mean +50-100mhz on memory) not like nvidia 1000+.

but yes, 20k for 6800 non XT is just too far jump for 17k for 3070. I’ll easily pay 17k for more 6800.

Distributors cannot get involved. There are only two for ASUS in SA and they've both been told the same. Anyone giving retailers an ETA is trying to be clever as they cannot possibly know (and the PM won't tell), and even if they did know it's not up to them as to who gets allocation. ASUS_ZA has utter and absolute say in who gets allocation.

I heard that the shipments that DO arrive only cover a small percentage of the current outstanding backorders (those that haven't already been cancelled) and some brands don't even backorder currently.

Correct on both counts. The MSI/GBT BO lists are several hundred deep and shipments are in the single digits, and ASUS has stopped backorders altogether (see the first post - that info was communicated to both ASUS distributors) as the distributors have zero say as to who gets stock.

I could "have a backorder" for 10,000 cards with payment already made to the distributor - if ASUS says I'm not getting, I'm not getting.

I was sceptical forking out the money in September for my 3080. Scared that the early adopter syndrome would have me paying an arm and a leg only for prices to drop in early 2021.

I have never been so glad of buying a product so early when I look at 3060ti's for the same price today I got my 3080 last year.

What has the world come to.

Sorta same boat as well.
Glad I got @SILTECH786 and @PC Rescue to hook me up with a 3070, from which I upgraded to a 6900xt so my boet could upgrade from his 1060 to the 3070 as well. best 36k spent

What's the update on taking another ASUS item + GPU to get the purchase? Did they just settle on let's just double the price instead lol

Well I'm smart enough to listen to my smart ass, now I'm looking to offload my 3070 for better while paying the pricing creep sprint :ROFLMAO:. Graphics card hyper inflation is real.

Agreed 100%
Just hope people can still sell their stock in time.
For reference ComputersOnly in midrand has stock of 3060tis for R11.5k now.
