Deal Thread URL: Purchased from their website
Seller:
@SoftwareBoys
Buyer: @ENDU
Description of Bad Deal: On the 26th of March, I made a purchase of the complete Adobe collection through Software Boys' online store. On the following Monday (28/04/2022) I was supplied with a download link to the complete collection that I believe was cracked software. After downloading one of the apps, to test my suspicions, I was able to install the program on several machines without a single sign-in or licensing request.
Given that I use the creative collection in a professional setting and have no need for software that doesn't update or have the cloud services required, I requested a refund for the purchase - to which they agreed and told me that it would take 7-10 days to process.
It is now going on 3 weeks and I have as contacted them 4 times since the refund was meant to have cleared - Each reply has been the same. They say that the refund was submitted and that I need to check with my bank regarding any further information. My bank has confirmed multiple times that there are no pending payments to be made into my accounts and that either, Paystack have not processed the refund or Softwareboys have not submitted the refund for processing.

I have tried reaching out to Software boys again regarding the refund and was met with a similar response.
"The refund was processed by Paystack as said previously. We are not involved in this process. Please contact them directly or your bank"

*I'm no lawyer but I'm pretty sure the merchant would be involved in the refund process - especially when I have not been given any proof that the refund was submitted and the only reference/point of contact I have is with SoftwareBoys directly*

After contacting Paystack directly and providing them with the merchant name, email address and transaction ID, they confirmed that @SoftwareBoys has not submitted any refund requests for the transaction and advised that I request my bank issue a chargeback.

As per emails we have no control over refunds. Refund was submitted via Paystack Ref - 1681091853.

Have a great day further,
I have just got off the phone with YOUR payment provider again and the above reference is a transaction ID for the initial purchase. They have once again confirmed that you have not submitted a refund and recommended that I issue a chargeback with my bank.

OK so @SoftwareBoys first things first, proof of refund submitted. I've never heard of PayStack, I'll be honest. The link your provided takes me to a login page, and PayStack seems to be a Nigerian pay site?

Second - is the software you sold pirated/cracked? How does it work? Doesn't matter that it originated off Carbonite anymore.

Yeah I guess the silence on the matter says it all. I guess the Carbonite community will flock to your stores now to buy all kinds of nice software from you.

@ENDU it's unfortunately true that the deal didn't originate on Carbonite. Please follow the corresponding routes as with all other bad deals and open a case of fraud with SAPS against the store. If they can't even prove that the initiated a refund and they're selling pirated goods, I'm sure there's a lot of meat for the SAPS doggos to bite on.
