Deal Thread:

Seller: @Nmsimanga
Buyer: @Swish

Description of Bad Deal:

So I've never had to make a bad deal thread before as all of the issues I have had have been sorted out promptly and professionally, but I do feel this is necessary as I feel I am being taken for a ride.

I bought the combo from @Nmsimanga on the 28th of August 2020 after agreeing that I would do an instant transfer once I had a photo of the waybill which I did.

The components arrived on the 31st of August 2020 but I was super busy and didn't get a chance to actually test the components until the 8th of September 2020.

I send him images of the board being completely locked up on the bios splash screen with no means of getting into the bios. I tried various ways to get it to post including different CPU, RAM, resetting CMOS, etc etc but to no avail.

I end up trying a GPU and this is where things get sketchy for me. The seller stated after I mentioned the following after trying a GPU (A GT710):
"It should be working on that one. Coz on me when I bought a new GPU beginning of last month just didn't beep and some tech guy told me it's my GPU I should update the motherboard bios or continue using my old card". So it didn't work with newer cards? Why was this not stipulated if that was the case? It didn't even post with onboard graphics.

On the 8th of September 2020, after a message or two the seller confirmed that he would be willing to refund me should I not be able to come right.

On the 9th of September 2020, I try all the parts again and pray that something would've changed overnight or I was overlooking something obvious which was not the case and I was left with the same symptoms as the day before. I then message the seller again and he confirms he would be willing to refund me on the 25th of September 2020 unless he manages to sell some items to refund me. I even offer to keep the other components that were working (CPU, RAM) and he just partially refund me for the board as I would find a use for the other bits and its less of a financial outlay from his part.

Over the next 3 weeks of back and forth checking up on when I can expect a refund, after seeing multiple items listed on carb and the 25th having come and gone, I am now over this. It is now the 29th of September 2020 and I am still with a faulty board and no refund as promised.

Sorry for your loss. He's banned.
