Buyer: @Ranks

Seller: @Mika786

Description of Bad Deal: No refund received.

Agreement reached with Seller to purchase two 1070s on 17/11/2020 and payment made on 18/11/2020. Seller was unable to obtain the cards and on 27/11/2020 indicated that a refund would be processed in the next few days.

The Seller indicated in early December that they had processed the refund but due to reasons beyond their control the payment could not go through. I accepted the Seller's reasons and on 27/12/2020 the Seller indicated that the transfer would be processed on 29 December 2020 and I requested proof of payment, which they agreed to provide. As of today I have not received the proof of payment/refund.

The Seller indicated that others have received their refunds so I am not sure why my refund is the only one that has been unreasonably delayed?

Damn, this is not the best start to 2021. Was hoping the post on Carb might incentivize the refund but if he's banned and looking at the other members who are owed money, a refund seems unlikely.

Do you guys ( specifically those affected) think he would have paid all the refunds if he wasn't banned? Just curious what is the best way forward when stuff like this happens. Do the Admins not ban and wait until all refunds are completed and thereafter decide on a ban or not or is the best way forward to ban the user ( prior to all refunds being completed (assuming he was going to eventually refund)) but now because there is a permanent ban on his account he loses the motivation/incentive (incentive as in to remain a member on carbonite) to refund (and therefore doesn't refund, personal morals aside)?

I'm very curious to know how much this guy took in total from carbies.

He owes @Ravi
I think he still owes @Dom
I think he owes @TheVeteran
He owes @Ranks

How many people does he still owe?
I was luckily sorted after a bit of fuckery & plenty of confusion.

Can share bank details (in PM) to report fraud or for a police case.

It's a catch 22 situation I think. On the one hand he might have paid those carbies if he wasn't banned but be might have got the money to pay them by selling stuff he doesn't own to newer unsuspecting members. (He did have an itrader of 50 plus)

If he genuinely is a decent guy who was just unfortunate to have made a few mistakes that put him in this situation he would still pay back whatever he owes regardless of the fact that he is banned...

Agree with you - he seems genuine enough (character-wise).

The complexity of how this went wrong & affected so many coupled with his inconsistent communication is what made this get very much out of hand.

@Mika786 mate if you're reading this - we were all right about you. Claiming all holy and clean and religious and shit, yet you scam numerous people out of thousands on Carbonite. Thanks for at least proving us right.

So about that previous smacktalk thread regarding high itrader vs scams and fly-by-night accounts...

Not necessarily the case here as it is inconclusive, but just saying.
