Going to try and keep this short

around 18th of june me and roshi came to an agreement with a price for the alienware.I paid him and arranged collection(during this time i was without a pc as i sold my parts)

I arranged collection with courier guy, they where never able to find he's work place as the number Roshi gave me was wrong, he then gave me the correct number later. Thursday came they still did not collect, he then went to postnet and sent it off i was told i will have it friday or saturday(i only got it monday)

Monday evening installed new ssd installed windows and let the updates run
next morning laptop screen was dead and not dead as nothing as in lines and shit all over the screen. Removed ssd just to try and get to bios and nothing tried external monitor and nothing. Told roshi about it and that i would call my insurance and see if they can help me(they cant)

He told me he gave 2 weeks personal warranty and that he will refund me asoon as he's got the laptop back, I said i paid you before you sent it I expect the same?
anyway he told me Friday i will have my money atleast 9k and the rest within a day or 2.

Friday came still nothing asked him whats going on and he said i will have the funds at the end of the day....forgot about it

Messaged him Sunday

he came up with the story he found a repair shop that could fix the screen for 4k for the uhd and 2k for an hd screen, I told him this was not the agreement as i already negotiated with members to buy their stuff.

I also sold my screen so that i can use some of the refund money to buy an new sammy 27"

Bottemline is that when i send my items of today or tomorrow I wont have a pc again for God knows how long.

I tried to keep this short and simple, I just want my refund and no excuses I am not trying to decredit Roshi in anyway but Each question leads to a different answer

Ok so i decided to post the discussion regarding the refund all highlighted

I have had no reply from Roshi since yesterday 13:00 my last whatsapp i sent to him is not going through, it has been more than 23h since last message i dont believe people dont look at their phones for 23h or more...I am at a point that i dont know what to do anymore, i guess i should allow more time for response on carb?

The conversation is afrikaans so dont know how many mods or admins understand it fluently

he replied on whatsapp yesterday around half past 1 and said that sorry for the late reply. we can communicate on the bad deal thread futher.and when rogue again. will wait till 14h if no reply by then i will open a case have enough info on him and enough people willing to help in the department in pta and jhb
 
Send him a WA and tell him you're going to open a case and we won't be allowed back on Carbonite if he doesn't reply before then.

EDIT: I see he has been online again. Will give him the time though.
 
Hi Guys, apologies for the delayed feedback, not running away, will provide an update a bit later today, crux of the matter is I will defs refund, just dont have the funds at the moment, Will elaborate soon as I get a chance today.
 
Morning [B]Nerozki[/B], Apologies once again for my delayed responses. Have a lot on my plate at the moment.

So turns out there is nothing wrong with the laptop's hardware.....

I finally got a chance to look at the laptop late last night around 23:00 still at work and my goal was to remove the screen as I needed the part number for a couple of the places I asked for quotes on a replacement.

I unclipped the front plastic cover and one of 3 mini connectors (Middle bottom) was unplugged (Might have been me taking the cover off as the cables are short but all 3 are next to eah other and the middle one was out, so think it was out prior to me opening the panel. When I switched it on the screen was just black with external monitor also plugged in and I proceeded troubleshooting by duplicated the displays, which did nothing, then uninstalled the Intel video driver and Tada!, laptop's screen went back on. Re-installed the driver by checking for updates via Device Manager and all is working as per normal.

I have re-run the Dell Hardware checker (from the Bios menus) and bench-marked with Cinabench (CPU, and GPU) Vally, Benchmark (4k Ultra) and heaven Benchmark (4k Ultra) and even thouth the GPU cant handle that (12 FPS) the screen is operating as Per normal.


So Nerozki, up to you dude. If you would like the Laptop back, Please advise and ill ship it. (Cost on you though)

If you would like the refund that is also fine, but as I have stated, I don't have the funds now (Various contributing factors that could not have been foreseen nor avoided) so you'll have to wait for me to get a buyer for the laptop else end of month is the best I can do.

hey man as mentioned in the thread i bought a bunch of parts again to get back to a 1440p standard unfortunately i cant take the laptop back as i need cash to make up for the funds i spent. if you get the laptop sold somehow that would be great if you cant then well then all i can do is wait. unfortunately this puts me in a position where i have no monitor to use as i sold mine to get a 1440p so i am stuck with the problem till you can refund me.
