Bad Deal with @Kaylinnaicker

Status
Not open for further replies
My FNB banker was informed (at the bank) that reversal was possible if the receiving account had money and the account owner approved the reversal. I made this known to @Kaylinnaicker in our communication but he insisted that the bank told him that nothing could be done.

Interesting catch there, @PC Rescue. I had not seen that either. The account provided to me in our communication was the 1212713125, which I promptly EFTd to. That's the account that consistently features in all my POPs and verifications.
Where were the account details provided? The whatsapp chats you provided don't have any of that in them?

@QED_Nova Did you personally make the payments or did a friend do it?
Two mates did the separate EFTs, since I had already informed @Kaylinnaicker that my salary was running late and that I was running around to secure funds to purchase the item. That explains the two different accounts that sent the R2000 and the R5000. No refunds were received by both.

@QED_Nova Do you have any chats/documentation that you/your friends contacted the bank from which payment was made?

This is not the same. Your banker assumes the account was active. Trust me, email him again, he needs to escalate this to a certain department. It took me 4 months to get my money back which was paid into an inactive Nedbank Account.

I don't even have an account 1212713126... in the nedbank communication that I will send shortly you will see the mentioned bank accounts... and if you guys still think I'm at fault.. @QED_Nova can open a case coz I have proof that no funds were received coz my account shave been closed for a while since the deal happen
So you did actually have this account?

Thanks for the advice there. Let me get on this and hope that the money is in limbo somewhere and can be recovered. I've suffered far too much on this one, and any way I can get my money back, I'll try. I just need this whole episode concluded.

Would the money bounce back if it were a Pay and Clear? Because I've sent bank statements for the period they say it was supposed to bounce back, and longer, with no bounce back. I hope this gets resolved, at the end of everything. I'm just tired of it.

Before the deal it was closed when I lost my job
But then, look mate, you said you didn't have such an account, then now it turns out you did, and then you say it closed before the deal, but then you still gave me that account which you say you knew full well was closed. What gives?

I think I've shown willingness to figure this out and resolve it, but something doesn't quite seem right there.

Slight story regarding the time I got scammed out of R7000 once.
It was for a Toyota corolla. Dude said make a down-payment to secure the car. When time came to view the car the same day he made excuses. (he wanted immediate payment). Eventually I had to call capitec and they told me that scammers normally say immediate payment and want to know when you will pay so that they can avail themselves to the nearest ATM and withdraw the money out and then close the account so no heat is on them.
I reported the account as a scammer and tried my best to contact him again, he laughed at me saying I know important people because his account got closed. He said he'll try to refund me by sending me an E wallet. When I phoned FNB to verify if the ewallet was real they said no, it's been used already months ago.

Scammers are getting sneaky.

Not saying that Kaylin is a scammer (I actually know him personally)

Yeah boet unfortunately it was like closed more than a year ago and this happened like 9 months ago so I couldn't remember the number but if you look at chats from nedbank she clearly says it is closed and that there's isn't a possibility that the money didn't bounce back if the payment was made...

Problem is
1. There's no proof you didn't get your refund or reversal
2. There's no proof you actually made a payment coz POP and transactions can be forged.
3.your friends did the so called "transfer" not you which raises more suspicion.
4. From the beginning of talking to you you were on and off... saying you taking laptop then not taking laptop
5. I've told you many times to open a case and if I'm proven to be at fault then so be it but you've also not wanted to

Your main goal was getting the laptop as security

🚩 this raises major red flags and and this is taking too much time and effort really....

I've done so many deals and almost got scammed a few times... guys have sent bank sms notifications and POP but money never reflects but always say I'm sending a driver to pick up laptop

@QED_Nova it's either you state what your desired outcome should be or open a case and deal with it from there....

@ViVceptioN if you want me off your platform I understand... but please take all the information in before making a decision

I've done alot of computer sales... and I've never scammed anyone .. and I have customers that would vouch to the work I've done...

I hate butting into these things but:-

1) You provided the incorrect banking details in the beginning so you need to take responsibility for this situation.
2) You have provided no proof as to when the account was closed. Proof as in a letter from the bank!
3) The EFTs done by @QED_Nova are valid. Check them here Online Banking

I think the onus falls on you first to prove your case supported by facts and relevant documents. You also only have one itrader which does not give one much confidence in your story either.

1. That is true yes, which makes this difficult to handle
2. It's not fake, it has been verified by FNB from what I can see. You are welcome to contact FNB and confirm it as well.
3. This makes this whole situation is much worse, but nothing suspicious. He told you numerous times he is gathering the funds to secure the laptop since his pay was late.
4. Yes and he even told you that should you find another buyer then you should rather sell it to them because he was still gathering the funds. He never once said he didn't want the laptop he said he needs to get the funds or wait for his pay. You were the one pushing him by telling him there are other parties interested and you are taking it to Cash Crusaders the next day if he doesn't make the payment that day. (This after you told him that you are in no rush). You also immediately started offering him other laptops :/
5. I think he should.

That being said, I'm getting tired of this case.

@QED_Nova take the loss or open a case if you must (and you will probably have to for a case number). Provide them with all the bank statements and documents you provided me with. Then you can contact the Nedbank fraud division and they should be able to tell you what exactly happened to that account. Going forward I suggest you be careful to just pay money into someone else's account. You should also give the seller a rating to truly reflect what happened here. I'm sorry this was how a deal went for you.

@Kaylinnaicker You gave the wrong account number. This whole situation is your fault and you seem to be taking zero responsibility for it. You also said the laptop was a friend's but in whatsapp messages you are talking as if you own it. You claim now that the account was closed before the transaction but yet you gave that account for payment, not once but TWICE? You cannot give us an exact date when it was closed either. So just like he could've gotten the money back when it bounced, you could've taken the money out and closed the account. I'm saying could've as in I'M NOT SAYING THIS IS CASE for anyone. Give him the rating to reflect how the deal went, and I don't think it should be negative. And before you sell anything to anyone on this platform again, buy a reseller sub since you "run a business and can source stock at any time".

Case closed.

Thanks for hearing us out, and I'll definitely be opening a case for this and getting to the bottom of it. Just very disappointed by how the gentleman in question handled this. I'll definitely take more care with whom I deal with in future.
