Description of Bad Deal:

On the 17th Aug I messaged him regarding the gpu for sale. Said that it’s available, but I have to make instant payment as he needs the money for his new gpus. Instant payment was made and I paid for shipping as well. Thread stated that it will only be shipped on Monday the 20th Aug.

On Sunday I checked in and he said he’ll ship them first thing Tuesday morning. Tuesday afternoon I checked in as I haven’t heard anything from him and he said he got scammed by the other seller and he’ll have to refund me. I sent him my details.

On Wednesday I checked in, as once again no feedback from him. Then he stated that he is waiting for funds to clear.

On Friday I checked in, as once again no feedback from him. He said he is still waiting for money to clear.

On Saturday I checked, as once again no feedback from him. He stated that money cleared the morning and he will refund me. Saturday evening I checked in again with him stating that he will do it as soon as he gets home or Sunday morning.

So Sunday morning (today) came. I checked in, as once again no feedback from him. He read my message and didn’t respond. Sent another which delivered, but not read. Sent a message tonight, did not deliver.

Over the weekend @CarboVan and @GuardianTB messaged me as well as they are in the same boat. Apparently @Jypels sold 3x 1080ti’s and all 3 of us are waiting for refunds with no communication from him.

@Jypels I do feel for you if you got scammed, but I don’t understand how you just don’t communicate and update us with what’s happening. If money has cleared, why are you not refunding us?
 
@Jypels eventually replied to us last night saying that he is selling other stuff to make up the balance to refund us. No eta on when this refund will happen.

I personally feel that he could still have send us the cards as we paid for them and he could’ve replaced them later with the funds coming in.
 
@Jypels you haven't heeded the request to state your side here since @ScorpioMan86 told you to do so. I would suggest you do just that or you will surely be banned. I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt here since you have one nice feedback score and I'm really hoping you are just experiencing a stroke of luck.

The benefit won't last though. Anything is better than silence.
 
Hi, I indeed owe 3 members refunds. And I do intend to fully refund them. I am not someone that shy's away from my responsibilities and this can be vouched from alot of members on this forum which are good friends of mine.

I paid over R18k for 2 x Asus 1080ti Strix cards to someone that I thought I could trust (he was vouched from a friend).

When the EFT was made he went silent on me for a couple of days until I managed to get his address and another contact number.

He has promised to refund me, but until now hasn't done so.

I am in the process of building up the money to refund the members that I owe as that is my responsibility. If I haven't scraped together the funds together then I will take the hit and let my cards go to the members.

I am not someone that will or can run away from this.

I promise to make this right with them.

@Jypels Actually, I'm not agreeing with you here. You have the cards that they paid for - what is stopping you from sending them the cards that they purchased from you?
This is what I have been thinking all along. I even sent a courier who was then turned down to collect my card.

Why not give us the cards now, and then sort yourself out later? Wouldn't that all be easier?

PS I'm expecting a reply on this @Jypels, this sounds too much like you're not willing to take a knock here and you're just pushing the blame down onto other members here. Please clarify if that's not the case?

This is not the case, the whole reason why I stated the cards would only be ready for collection on monday was so that I could have my replacement cards up and running which I would have collected on sunday the 17th. It is part of how I make a living, it is not used for gaming (haven't even played a game on pc in the last 2 years) so no I can't send out the cards without having my replacement cards up and running first. I'm not shifting the blame onto anyone hence me stating that I will refund the members that I owe it to.

Yeah but the problem is that right now you're doing neither - you're not sending out cards nor are you refunding members - for 2 weeks now it seems. Don't you think this is exceedingly unfair to the guys who bought the cards from you? Don't you think that they also need that money they paid to you to "make a living", as you call it? You are not shifting the blame here, but right now you're sitting high and dry with their money and no ETA from you to get this sorted. At all. Just pay back their money, or send them the cards. Or is the problem here that you spent their money before they were happy with the deal at hand?
 
Full disclosure. A friend (@CarboVan) of mine bought one of the cards for me because I do not trust sites like this. he did that to show it is safe. This deal affects me also since I cannot in good conscience let him take the knock alone if he loses his money because of this "bad deal".

@Jypels I am confused. According to the posting the cards was used for drone footage editing and there is no drones anymore so the card is not used. so.... what is the problem? give the cards. This is turning into theft/scam since you are not willing to give a eta for when you will be paying back the money. Please give a ETA for when you will be giving back the money and stop ignoring people.

The more you keep quite the bigger this problem gets.

This is the message the 3 of us received on Friday:

“Morning, you will have your money on monday. The motor was officially sold last night. Deposit was put down last night with the condition that he looses it if the motor is not paid for in full by monday, he gets paid today and I will then go monday at 2pm with him to withdraw the rest of the cash inside the bank as he is with standard bank. I Will then do a cash deposit to my bank account and will immediatly refund everyone in full. If I fail to do so then you are welcome to send someone to collect the card on Tuesday.”

Will update tonight on what happened
 
Morning. Jypels was in contact with me on Friday morning. He is concluding a cash sale this afternoon, after which refunds will be processed.
Will update during the week.
 
Yip come this afternoon and it hasn't been done I will be sending them back to collect tomorrow morning.

However he should be telling the admins this not having everyone else explain him.
 
@ 3pm was sent a message that cash is on his way later today... Just before leaving work now [@ 7pm], just checked = zero updates.
Was going to give till 8pm to decide, but now I will give till 9pm... If the money is not in my account, I will be arrange to send for them to collect MY card, regardless of what little effort is put in after the fact. I've had enough of this attitude in this matter.
 
So Update time: from not yours truly... Apparently he has received cash in sum of enough to pay us back.. however Dragon being the kind hearted person said it wouldn't be safe to go to an atm with cash inhand at 7:30pm so its better for him to put the money into a bank tomorrow.
So lets see what happens.

This guy......... 2:30pm on my way to the bank.... Then silence.... I ask "update" at 4:20pm because why would he update us himself.... all I get is, o yeah money is in account but I'm off to a client so I'll do the transfer later..... ARE YOU **** kidding me... Do you seriously think that is alright. I am your worst client so far. Imagine you are contracted for work from a firm, paid upfront, due date "so and so date" and then you don't arrive, and the company comes back and says sorry where are you, you meant to be working. "no sorry I'm off to go do something better I'll get around to you when I can"..... YOU are running around with OUR money, how do you not get this.

This is a rant I know, but how do you not understand this. For someone who states they were scammed true or not, how do you not see the irony.

No money yet. Said he’ll eft as soon as he’s home. All 3 of us have been messaging him tonight with no replies.
 
OK this is it. @Dragon, @GuardianTB and @CarboVan I suggest you go to SAPS right now and go make a case against the following person:

Treat this like a scam because it's looking like a scam from all directions. Make the case, see if the cops and get something out of him. I would also suggest you check out the Small Claims Court direction.

For now, @Jypels is banned. Permanently.

@GuardianTB it seems like the address above might be his old address. What address did he give you for the courier delivery? I think that might be the newest one.
