As a warning to other users I had a bad experience with @Freakshow2021

In relation to https://carbonite.co.za/index.php?threads/paypal-63-for-eft.384622/

I did this deal which was successful. We concluded a few others but they repeatedly become late or unreliable eventually ending up with a failed transfer which left me out of pocket and being ghosted. It wasn't a huge amount, but still annoying.

Hi, this should be posted in the Bad Deals section here: https://carbonite.co.za/index.php?forums/bad-deals.65/

Also for what it's worth, be sure to give the seller a negative rating for the deal, so people may be aware of it when seeing his profile (although if what you say is true he is likely to be banned - but only if you post a Bad Deal thread).

You're going to want to remove all that personal info before you end up with a legal headache.

More than happy to redact things first, before continuing with the debate of how valid "legal headache" might be in this case, but can't edit the post?

Thank you @Ageless_ZA , now I can debate with @Oj0 regarding "end up with a legal headache."

I assume the kind of headache where the person goes to the police and opens a case against me; providing their ID number and address? The same person who stole money from me? I'm not sure them providing me with their details so I can open a case of theft is exactly what I'd call "headache", sounds like they're saving me a bunch of hassle.

I do think there is value in providing the redacted (not deleted) details (start - end) of details so that if this person crops up under another alias people can sniff them out. I'm no legal scholar, but I think that wouldn't cross the line?

Youd rather open a case against him than have one opened against you.

Theres a whole stack of new privacy stuff everyone has to adhere to now. My doctor cant get access to one of my scans without having the relevant documents signed by me because of the new POPI stuff

I think the legal headache he is talking about is you posting personal information on a public forum (I missed what the information was)

these days you need to be careful with all these new damn laws (does this fall under something like POPI or is that just for business related cases?)

If you think being sued/having criminal charges placed against YOU is not a headache, by all means. Someone else breaking the law doesn't give you the right to do so in return without prosecution.

I'm not really making an argument for or against "2 wrong make a right". Just making light of the fact that it's not obvious what would be a greater headache.

That is to say. Finding out their ID number/address to lay chargers = a headache. Having them provide those details because they're opening charges against you because of POPI, makes that headache go away.
