Deal Thread URL:http://carbonite.co.za/showthread.php?178605-Hisense-40-quot-TV-For-Sale
Seller: Leroy Brown
Buyer: Tjarra22
Description of Bad Deal:
The seller and I sealed to deal in the morning only for the seller to notify me that he sold the item to someone else, 30 minutes before our meetup/arranged time.
I messaged the Seller early this morning and offered him R2000, which he did not accept. So I offered him R2250, he accepted and sent me his contact number.
I contacted the Seller on Whatsapp at this point and he sent me the address and confirmed that he would only be available after 16:00PM today.
The seller then contacted me again at 14:27PM to inform me that he would only be home after 5. I replied and said that this is no problem, I would till be able to collect.
At 16:23PM as I was preparing to leave, the seller then said: "I'm in Doringkloof. Looks like it might be sold though"
I asked the seller if he is new to carbonite as he accepted my offer, pending payment and collection.
His responses were: "No I can have many buyers coming to look at it, you can't put your money on one sale? First come first serve"
as well as : "Look man, the other guy offered more money. That's business for you"
and "If you had paid for the TV, it would be another situation, there was not deal made yet, only arrangements. Sorry for the inconvenience but that's how it works"
I mean no disrespect to the seller, but we do things differently on Carbonite, this is not Gumtree or OLX.
I apologize in advanced if it seemed to the seller that I wasn't good for the money as I would have been happy to pay for it right away, although I have to admit, the seller's bad English and low i-trader rating would have been a concern and cash on delivery, as I'm sure everyone would agree would have been better in this case.
Regards
