So I bought a Lenovo Yoga Pro 2 for parts as my customer has the same laptop. Her screen and flex cable are buggered.
I contacted @lickerish via pm and he said "The machine is non working, corrupt bios."
We exchanged phone numbers and moved communication over to whatsapp on the 24th July 2019
I asked him if there was any liquid damage or damaged tracks on the motherboard and he said no.
@lickerish sent me a video via whatsapp, showing the laptop on charge, no screen display and said it was the corrupt bios.
He provided an invoice for the laptop, along with POP from Takealot. Exchanged banking details and I made immediate payment including courier fee on the 8th August 2019
I eventually received the laptop on the 12th August 2019 and proceeded to inspect the laptop. Externally the laptop is fine, box and charger provided. I took the laptop to my technician to remove the lcd and flex cable.
Upon inspection, the flex cable was damaged, hence the screen not going on.
I contacted @lickerish via whatsapp on the 13th August 2019, told him about the flex cable and he acted all surprised and told me to give him 10 mins. He never got back to me and I didn't follow up as I was busy.
I contacted him on the 14th August 2019, ignored my whatsapp mesages and calls completely.
I contacted him again today but I told him I would open a bad deals thread and report his dodgy behaviour and lying about the overall condition of the laptop.
He eventually got back to me via whatsapp, claiming to be sick and in hospital. He's not taking any responsibility what so ever, got stroppy and told me, he considers this sale done.
My technician has informed me that not only is the flex cable broken, but the CMOS battery and speaker is damaged as well.
Clearly, @lickerish tried to fix the laptop and did a hack job in the process.
Maybe he didn't know he damaged the laptop beyond corrupting bios, but the fact the he's taking no responsibility and getting all defensive irks me big time.
