Deal Thread URL: [Sale] - Iphone 6s 16 gb (screen not responsive to touch) | Phones

Seller: @AneleIlyas

Buyer: @FroyDN

Description of Bad Deal: So to start,im not known to complain but i believe the seller couldve handled this better as he actually opened the phone and could clearly see what is happening there.

So bought the 6s from him over the weekend, touch unresponsive, received it,didnt display so opened it up and saw it was literally burnt by the connectors on the motherboard, usually done with a hot air station or heat gun, contacted him and he stated he did open the phone but never saw that which is impossible and that he used the money and can do a few payments starting from the end of the month, now im not trying to be nasty,i know things are tough these days,im having a hard time too but this is not how to handle the hustle, below are screenshots and pics of the mobo

Similar thing happened to me on FB marketplace, guy sold me a phone, I went home and the charging port wasn't working (yes, I should have tested the port, you live and you learn :poop:). I asked him if he would refund me and he said yes but I must give him the phone back and he can give me a few hundred per month because he used up the cash already o_O I don't ever use the cash that I have received from any carb sales until my personal warranty is up for that specific item or until the receiver is 100% happy (if the item sold does not have any warranty)

I intend giving a refund asap, I have the customer's bank details already. I'm broke at the moment though, once my finances are good, I'll pay the refund.

Any date that we can perhaps settle on? Next week or the end of the month on the latest?

Okay, my patience is running out with you @AneleIlyas

Clearly you are not putting in an effort to resolve this issue at all.

You have until Monday, 5 October at 09:00 to refund @FroyDN otherwise the hammer will greet you.

Chill, you guys have no patience at all, I said I was gonna pay come month end, I had a slight delay in receiving the cash I was expecting, and yes, I kept the customer updated about this. And no I do not have money just lying around, it's why I was selling the phone in the first place. Anyway I just sent the refund. I was not trying to scam the guy or anything, I sold the phone truly believing it could be fixed with a simple screen replacement, it worked just fine before the screen suddenly stopped responding, what else was I suppose to assume was the problem. There was really no need for any of this process to be made public, I had a good track record prior to this, made perfectly legitimate deals which all my customers well fully satisfied by. Carbonite was pretty quick to take sides and just assume things. In any case, like I stated earlier, I just sent the guy his money, will then arrange for him to send me back the phone and I'll get it fixed myself this time around. The response from Carbonite was just disappointing.

Normally I stay out of these threads but when you attack my community and bad mouth it, I feel I have to step up.

1. You were the seller, a bad deal was opened against you, therefore the onus is on YOU to sort the mess out and keep everyone (including this thread and the moderator handling it) updated. It is NOT the buyer's responsibility NOR the admins to chase for updates. You failed in updating this thread.

2. Fine words coming from someone who would most likely act the exact same if the scenario was reversed. It's been nearly a MONTH since the bad deal was posted, nearly 4+ weeks is PLENTY of time and by all accounts the mods and the affected buyer have been more than patient. People got impatient due to your lack of involvement and due to the already considerable time that has passed.

3. The bad deal section is exactly for this kind of situation, things went bad and were unresolved, had you resolved the issue "behind the scenes" it would not need to be made public. Many people buy (and sell for that matter) on here because they need the money OR the item. Imagine if the item in question was for a child or elderly person who desperately needed it, and now it's busted? You only see the picture from your side.

4. No one took sides, the moderator (and the community as a whole) are -generally- speaking, impartial to these kind of threads unless the seller is clearly at fault and playing hardball. Lopping the entire community (and yes that's what we are) in because of this bad deal is in poor taste and shows your poor character.

5. You being part of this community is a PRIVILEGE not a right and you agreed to the "house" rules when you joined. If you don't like it here, you are welcome to leave, no one is forcing you to stay here. Do not for one second think I (or any of the other community members) will stand idly by while you badmouth a community that has taken an incredible amount of time and money to build up where it is today.,

Different story if you kept everyone updated on the thread so staff could see that you are making an effort. No need to be disappointed at carb when all the staff did was try and help resolve your issue. (Just my 2c)
