@Bostik how come, what happened now?
He's not gonna refund at all and wants me to pay R700 for another unit. Dropped the pc at a friend over weekend and he will check if he can sort out something, if not will just take the loss and sell as parts.
Bad seller and people should not deal with him, look at all the bad deal threads!
And this doesn't even include other people I know on carb that also had bad deals with him.

I'm currently dealing with him but my true caller says Max Walters. Bought a mobo and cpu from him and working out a refund cause the cpu isn't working but can't say its a bad deal so far. I hope he doesn't just disappear now

Lol... why am I not surprised that this turned out to be Reggie?

Back in March, he was selling 10TB drives on the forum ([Sale] - 5x 10TB WD Red Pro + 5x 8TB WD Red Pro | Storage / Drives) - when I ran the serial numbers on the drives through WD's warranty system, they specified "Corex", with no actual warranty details - meaning these drives had never actually been sold and had their warranties registered on WD's site - IE, they had been stolen.

I contacted BlackAdept (known to me only as Max at the time) and advised him to withdraw the sale, return the drives to wherever he'd gotten them from, report it to the authorities, and to stop selling shit with questionable origins on the forum...

He withdrew the sale, but then 2 days later, proceeded to sell them anyhow... at which point, I contacted the buyer, and informed him of the state of affairs - he verified the situation with Corex, got confirmation that the drives were indeed stolen, and then asked "Max" for a refund, which spanned across several weeks and payments, until "Max" had apparently sold the drives to someone else unsuspecting - I wanted to make it public, but agreed with the buyer not to do so until he'd gotten his full refund, as we didn't want to risk BlackAdept disappearing altogether once his activities were revealed for all and sundry. I never received confirmation of the full refund, and instead, informed an admin regarding the deal.

Long and the short of it, folks, if you've bought any "new" hard drives from BlackAdept at any point in time, do yourself a favour, and confirm the warranty status on these... the last thing you want is taking in a failed hard drive for an RMA, and getting the "Sir, please step into this office while we contact the police" treatment.

True caller says max Walters aka Reginald Moyo aka Scammer

@Battletoad and @D3adR4t and others who were scammed by him might want that info for their SAPS cases.

The guy that scammed me was Shadrack Moyo (Sheid). He never came back to me, just went silent. I also didn't had the time to further investigate and follow up, hence i decided to take the loss.

One and the same person @D3adR4t. Reggie, Reginald, Max - all the same guy who ended his sentences with "dude".

Guys i understand people's frustration here, but this guy also had great deals with a seriously high number of positive feedback, i had 3 deals with him, of which i had no problems at all. Lets see what happens here.

May have a possible address, if required, from when I was trying to arrange a collection.

 Also who can I check the warranty status with for a set of Corsair Vengeance RAM?

You didn't read everything did you. The guy is a known scammer that has scammed a few people on here before using different aliases.

Yup, I also had several good dealings with Reggie back in 2011/2012 - until he started trying to peddle me stuff that didn't work, and overtly dodgy kit that seemed too good to be true (or legit for that matter)

He still owes me half a metric shit ton of money from faulty items I bought from him back in the day, but frankly, I wrote it off long ago. I figured he may have gotten his act together after a stint in prison back in 2013/2014, but evidently not.

Uh-huh... this is exactly the type of reasonable thinking that's gotten him 200 positive iTraders in the first place... and by the same token, newbies like you are often the ones that bleat the loudest when they do eventually get scammed.

This is the kind of situation where ignorance is bliss, and where frankly unbelievably good pricing, sees people compromising with their principles just enough not to question that which would normally raise a couple of alarm bells in the back of your head.

Can confirm he used Max@infinitedata when I dealt with him. Have bank details and a supposed home address in Randburg if anyone needs them.

Does anyone have a contact with Pinnacle? I purchased an SSD from him that was claimed to be brand new with full warranty through him to them.
I would like to confirm if I got a stolen item (like the HDD's Billy mentioned) and/or if this SSD even has a warranty on it to begin with.

@Jack_Bauer_ZA do you have contacts at Pinnacle and the works? Can you let them know this individual is selling stolen stuff? @Kuga perhaps for some MSI stuff?

Don't mind me. Just hanging around here to see what happens to this worthless piece of shit. I nearly bought a PC from him as my first purchase off Carbonite. My first thoughts were this guy has a very high iTrader and his stuff is always very well priced, almost to well priced. Can definitely see BillyBob's point here. Anyway, luckily I used to buy and sell secondhand cars so I have been well versed in my process and checks that I always do and it didn't take me long to realize this guy is shady AF and it was either going to end up being a nightmare or just not worth the money.

As an after thought, would love to compare note's on everyone's process and the checks that they do before going into deals but I realize that it could be setting a bit of a trap for yourself eventually. However, if you do your research properly you will undoubtedly always find that one piece of information that doesn't make sense and it should bother you like an itch that can't be scratched. If something doesn't make sense and and it doesn't bother you, its just a matter of time before you are scammed...100% guaranteed or you are the luckiest guy ever and should be playing the lotto every week.
