Bad deal @Arise

My hands are tied on this. Either refunds happen or he gets banned and you take this up with SAPS/Fraud dept.
It does seem to be quite a tough situation but is exacerbated by the factors people have mentioned above (poor communications & going off the radar + the verification of the keys being problematic and not necessarily his fault).

Been over a month since this bad deal was opened. Most are resolved within a few days to a week.

@AirWolf has been open about everything trying to get a response/refund.

@Arise has responded once on this deal and once on discord. How is he not banned? Hes clearly making no effort to rectify this.

If I was one of the buyers I would be livid that he just spins a story and gets to go on selling for 2 weeks without making any attempt to refund former customers.

Personal I feel he should be banned and only unban him once he has refunded all customers. 1.5 months was more than enough time to resolve this.

Not a democracy, if Ageless gave him a year, he would have it. In my limited experience on here, you don't always have full visibility of the situation and people are naturally biased. Have a little patience and faith that the admins/moderators have reasons for giving him some leeway.

I understand that.

You are privy to private message thread and have seen the tall claims of refunds he has allegedly done, so my minor amount of 5.7k should not be a problem from my understanding.

You are welcome to ask me anything on here (granted I can't post any private details).

From where I stand, I am a nobody on this forum and @Arise is a VIP supporter, so I can understand the admin's leeway. But at some point a line has be drawn on what is right and what is not.

We are not stopping ANYONE to take this further as in SAPS etc

@Ageless_ZA is however TRYING to assist everyone involved since there are many factors involved here. Arise has been given a deadline, what more do you want from us???

I feel your guys frustration i also bought a subscription and it only worked for 4 months. Put yourself in the sellers shoes, i doubt he had any idea that this would happen and im sure these "keys" cost him something too, to now outlay all the cash and refund everyone in full is quite an expensive and cashflow depleting task. I asked to seller to refund me on a pro rata basis as i did have the service for 4 months and he was happy to comply. I think that would be fair for most of the guys that have got some use out of the software. But the sellers lack of communication is making this worse. Not taking any sides here, but just think how kuk it must be to be in the sellers shoes, he has a great reputation and can't see him purposely selling dodgy keys with the risk of losing all his hard earned rep.

Sure, the SAPS route is still open.

While I appreciate the admin input in trying to resolve this, the situation is as follows (from the available info):
- the delay in refund is due to Arise having a dispute with his supplier. By that logic, if he gets no refund, I get no refund. Arise would no doubt have had a markup on the price.
- Arise isn't very reliable when it comes to communication, and anything he says has to be taken with a pinch of salt.
- Arise continues to trade on this forum. Each thread operates a certain guarantee of service, which when problems arise, Arise is unable to honour i.e. trading with him is a lucky packet risk - thread guarantee means zero.

From past communications I will be very surprised (but thankful) if he does honour the deadline. A single R99 code might be minor issue. 40+ codes @ R799 is not. A subset of these have had issues. I have years worth of issues ahead of me if more start coming back.

I can understand that, but he never commits publicly to anything, only saying that he is sorting in PMs.

Even in PMs he hasn't committed to any refund date.

I had some codes that did not work at all and some for a period (pro-rata claim on those).

Open communication and honored commitments would go a long way in saving his rep.

You didn't answer my question, what more do you want us as admins to do?

We banned him, he contacted us because he needed access to get information from others regarding refunds, we gave him a clear deadline to sort the shit out.

@Arise

Updates please before 5pm. Posted here in public.

Failure to do so will nullify access to Carbonite.

Hi,

So the PayPal dispute has been decided in my favour, just awaiting the removal of a limitation and then I should be all good. The sum was quite large but PayPal had no reason to limit my account which is now causing further delays.

Screenshots of limitation if wanted :

Glad to hear it. Will be nice for everyone to rule a line under this Adobe saga. My refund payments haven't started yet - hopefully this kicks off from today.

Closing this, he sorted everyone out.

If not then create a new bad deal thread.
