Not sure if there is someone that can assist me, but
My Scarlett Solo Gen1 randomly stopped working after recording for a whole day. Just decided to not turn on the next day. I opened it up and saw a bit of dust, cleaned it off and tried again, but nothing. I then changed the cables to see and still not working. Gave it an alcohol bath and some scrubbing, still nothing.
When I plug it in via USB, my laptop picks it up and in device manager it says "Unknown USB Device (Devide Descriptor Request Failed)". I then used a multimeter to test all the voltages and it looks like power is going through it.
The only coclusion I could come up with is that the device is simply not turning on or failing to boot up.
Anyone had this problem or anyone with more electronic knowledge that could maybe assist? Don't really wanna pay for it to be fixed as I would rather put that money towards saving for a new one.
Thank you!

Also I don't see any blown caps or burn spots on the PCB. Looks 100% fine, but once again, I have basic knowledge of electronics

I've had issues with the scarletts and sorted out by downloading and reinstalling drivers.

I tried it, also tried it on 2 different computers and it gives the same issue. Also it doesn't do the normal thing where the lights flash and then turn off. It stays dead and you would think the thing is completely dead if the computer didn't tell you it's plugged in

Have you tried switch out the usb thunderbolt cable? I am on my third x_X
