Guys, please see the error below and help.

I built the PC for my friend and did extensive tests. Murphy. All was working f;awlessly, including my demonstration upon pickup tonight, then he takes it home and it throws this error. Sigh. Currently running 18.2.1 (recommended) driver for his card (Asus RX 550 2GB).

Ever since the Windows 1709 update Windows has been such a pain with GPU Tweak II. Not sure why it all of a sudden throws the error.

WHYYYYYYY.

Thanks for the help.

Cheers :)

Run driver install again, and perform a clean install
Otherwise remove driver, reboot and re install

the problem is you are running a amd gpu...
seriously though, it's possible that the gpu drivers are being weird as they sometimes are, so uninstall both (use revo uninstaller or something similar), then reboot, install gpu drivers, then reboot and install gpu tweak.
Also doubt it's the windows version as gpu tweak runs fine on my pc with a 1070ti and win10.

Glad I could help.

Calm down guys. I also run an AMD gpu and all runs smoothly. And it’s and Intel System.

It’s a new Ryzen 2200G build so I think that’s a factor. I actually advised my friend exactly what you have said. Thanks.

Cheers :)

I also wanted to quote that and the correction was very necessary since dissing AMD isn’t cool.

The solution to this would likely be to find the .dll, download it, put it next to the .exe and then try rerun it.

Also, a clean driver install would likely work too - use the AMD clean uninstall tool.

How is your experience with the 2200G?

I also built a 2200G system and have the Vega gfx running at 1600mhz but haven't pushed it further. Make sure you installed the proper chipset and video drivers though.

I have disabled the iGPU because we (I built this for a friend) got an Asus RX 550 2GB. There is a whole other thread about it here:

The Ryzen 3 2200G specs disillusionment thread | Tech talk, news, discussion

Long story short, the 2200G was a better choice than the 1200 as it was cheaper and had better specs plus has the added bonus of the Vega iGPU.

All in all, I am very impressed with the performance. I OC'ed the CPU to 3.8GHz without aftermarket cooling and it runs cool. I also OC'ed the RX 550 to 1450MHz (122%) via GPU Tweak (hence this thread) and it also runs cool. About 28 degrees at idle. I then ran Far Cry 3 as a benchmark and with Enhanced Sync enabled in Radeon settings with Vsync OFF in game I was able to achieve frame rates of 82 to 116FPS in game. Intense gameplay was in the mid 80s.

So, overall, a good budget build and I might add the new AMD kit is built military grade. Very solid.

Cheers :)

No u. That is never ever the solution.
The solution is to find out what software package the dll is a part of, download a new version of that and then then clean install that with the highest rights level possible (with reboots inbetween to clean the slate). Set UAC to highest level (If you're one of the idiots that lowers it), take ownership of everything you can find that's related and force admin rights whereever possible. Then try again.

It has worked for me before when the program has failed to launch because of a missing .dll and all I did was place it in the directory.

Yes, it’s a dirty fix but it works. You should have the .dll mapped by the registry to avoid that but hey, Windows is a dick.

Oh I didn't mean it doesn't work. I just mean one shouldn't do it. Where one DLL of a redistributable failed it's likely indicative of a problem with the install of the reditstributable/driver so that's what you should fix. Don't just get this or that dll when a game complains, fix the actual problem.

Leads to a much happier system in the long run.

Like I said, the way I suggested is a dirty fix.
