This game doesn't have its own dedicated thread??? I'm going to assume it's due to lack of GPU horsepower because it's damn beautiful on my RX580 8GB.
Though it only uses 3.2GB of VRAM on max settings/No AA @1080p.

The map is friggin huge, I have to fast travel to most areas because commuting with a camel through the desert gets me dehydrated...

I am loving the Egyptian theme of this game, the last AC game that had me this hooked was Black Flag.

The fight controls are a bit annoying at first but that's what you get with such a comprehensive design, from melee to ranged to blocking. It's a major improvement on the past titles.

What are your thoughts?

Legit the only thing that kept me from trying this game is the new fighting mechanisms

It's not all bad once you get used to it and realise what Ubisoft were trying to achieve.

We all have a different play style, whether you play stealth or all-out rager or even a bit of both, this game has you covered.

Yeah it's absolutely stunning. Mistake was I tried playing kingdom come after and assassin's creed is just so polished.

Despite the pretty visuals the quests the story etc is amazing. One of the best games around for sure

I'm not really sure, I haven't checked the save game percentage but I'm level 22 now and some enemies are level 30+ in some regions, so I'm getting owned.

Decided to do more exploring and tomb raiding to get some experience.

Seems like a game you could dump a good 50 to 60 hours in while accruing my wife`s hatred lol

The 1st AC game that I've actually played and for way too long at over 80 hours (Level 44 now)
There's plenty of W3 influence here which is a good thing. Unfortunately the story just isn't meaningful or at the very least the side quests are not as they essentially boil down to, talk to this person and go and kill that person usually in a Roman Encampment or Bandit hideout.
For some difference, you may be asked to help rebels or transport a person somewhere. That's literally most of the missions and quests.
Some bugs in this game with NPC's falling out of the sky or popping up from beneath the ground or geting in the way during combat and get slaughtered. (A Medjay is suppose to protect people etc)
There's a lot that's very wrong with this game for sure, but that doesn't mean it isn't enjoyable.
The world is huge and many parts painstakingly detailed and artistically breath taking at times. The combat, is a bit of a hit and miss, but I generally like it and feels weighty (more so than the Witcher 3 and Shadow of Wars for example).
The music is pretty good at times especially the more quiet pieces (Synchronising with Senu for example) and never overbearing.
Best parts for me is going into a place which I'm rather underpowered for and trying to clear out an entire garrison using stealth. Soldiers a good 2 levels above and a Captain/Commander and additional 2 levels on top of that.
Naval warfare is great but there isn't that much of it for obvious reasons. Overall this is a solid game and the only one that could have gotten me into AC.
I do feel however it would have been even better had it spent perhaps 1 more year in development, with more varied mission types, tuning of hit-boxes/collision detection and all kinds of technical anomalies which can draw you out of the experience.
Solid game though

Works just fine max detail 2560x1440 and 3840x2160 on 1080 so no issue with performance there.

Just put in another 10+ hours grinding side quests and exploring the map and clearing camps to get to level 30.

The side quests do get repetitive and the amount of resources needed to upgrade tools is ridiculous

I own this, i dont think i have given the game the amount of attention it requires xD

I've been enjoying it alot, and coming from Kingdom come deliverance it's just so much more enjoyable playing a game where you're not plagued with bugs, don't think I've experienced one bug, an NPC was out of place on a table once.

For those who haven't played it or just started.
I'd recommend playing on hard or nightmare, and change the display settings to light mode, disable the compass and the enemy side indicator, that way when playing you'll have a beautiful view of the world with no UI to look at, and when in combat you'll have your health and ability bar shown

remember to pm me your usernames so I can add you on uplay

I still think that the Witcher 2 and 3 had the best combat of games like this. If what you guys are saying about AC Origins combat is true I'll def pick it up when the steam sale rolls around

I found ACO to be pretty but terribly boring. The side quests are garbage.

What did you think of Kingdom Come: Deliverance ? I enjoy role playing games but they all so dummed down these days and are more Action RPG's for the masses. Way to easy as well. I don't mind a grind and high difficulty and Kingdom Come seems to have that. I realise it is buggy and has a stupid save system which with the bugs could drive me nuts . Still no other RPG have peaked my interest for awhile.

It has promise ... And the idea of it was great. But the bugs, clunky physics and emotion agnostic characters killed the atmosphere for me... Also some world modelling feels like stuff out of the early 2000s. Once a few more patches come out I'll try it again.

Cool thanks for the feedback. I think I will wait a bit as well :)

Finally got this game and played a few hours, PC has no trouble running it on very high/high @60fps although my gpu usage is 90%+ all the time except for cutscenes. Worryingly Ive noticed some micro stutter and horrendous screen tearing, enabling in-game vsync and frame limit to 60 doesnt help with the tearing. Nvidia fast sync eliminates the tearing but worsens the stutter. Is there something im missing or is that how it goes with this game.

The stutter is most likely coming from the CPU. This game uses ridiculous copy protection software called VM-Protect which basically tells all but the top-endest CPUs to bend over and take it.

I suppose running my R5 2600 at 4,2 won't help then

Your system spec looks ok to me. The only component I'm not familiar with is your CPU.
Also make sure your Nvidia drivers and Direct X is updated. Sometimes that can make a big difference.

Solved my stuttering issues. What I did was drop the resolution scale to 100% , enable 60 fps cap and vsync in game as well as disabled frame limiting in Riva Tuner(MSI Afterburner) and finally in Nvidia Control panel I set max pre rendered frames to 2.
No stuttering or screen tearing and GPU usage stays at around 70% to 80%
