Arise - goods not received, refund / POP not being received.

Description of Bad Deal:

I hate that I am opening this thread, I've always been fond of Arise and have done quite a few deals successfully in the past. Even when there were hiccups, there has been resolution. Unfortunately this time, I am getting some bad vibrations in terms of the resolution.

A chronological list of events/communication below:

3 Dec 2020
  • I make contact with Arise to confirm pricing, as I noticed that some key prices have changed since our last deal
  • Arise responds with confirmation of prices
  • I confirm receipt of pricing, payment is made later that evening (R1776 - POP sent from bank, I sent a DM via Carb as well to inform)
7 Dec 2020
  • I follow up with Arise - haven't heard anything since before making payment
8 Dec 2020
  • I follow up - still hadn't heard back.
  • Arise replies, confirming payment was received and keys will be sent later the day
  • I acknowledge - noting that I've got some software pending activation (suggesting urgency)
  • Arise replies later on stating that his upstream hasn't sent the online activation keys yet. Confirms I will be let know or refunded if I wish.

  • (Technically still 8th...just after midnight) I suggest waiting till morning to see what happens, then we take it from there
  • (Actual morning of the 9th) I have sourced keys elsewhere and inform Arise, requesting a refund for the keys
...Radio silence...

  • I follow up on refund as still not received

  • Arise confirms payment will be made 'today' (I.e. 14th)
16 Dec 2020
  • No payment received - I inform Arise
  • Arise replies confirming payment was made the day prior (15th) after going through all orders

  • I ask that Arise double check the account details used - still nothing reflecting
  • Arise confirms account details, claims FNB will be contacted as payment is through on web
  • I respond stating that I'd like this sorted before the, then, coming weekend and request to send POP so that I can see if anything can be traced via my bank

  • Arise responds with 'Will do' (not sure if will send POP or will keep me informed) and states going into the bank 'today' (19th)
  • I acknowledge and confirm that I'm happy to share clips of my banking transactions for the days prior as confirmation that payment had not been received and remind to send POP as well as resolution timelines.
  • (Just before 9PM) I ask if there's any news, as bank should already have been visited/contacted by the time, according to Arise's own timeline...

  • Still no feedback - still no refund reflecting, nor POP... So I started this thread.

I'm not an asshole. I hate complaining. But I have paid for something which was not received and have waited over a week for my refund, after waiting almost a week to be told that the goods requested cannot be supplied. Communicating via DM's does not seem to be working, so I guess we resolve this in the public eye then 🤷‍♂️

Sorry, that was a total lack of communication from my side, sending him PoP now,

Was resolved with FNB yesterday. Have pm'ed you too.
