Building a PC for my pops and I’ve just realised an error. I have an Asus Strix Z270E motherboard with two 12v RGB headers, and I have a Thermaltake Commander C36 case which has a pair of 5v aRGB fans. The case has its own controller but if you want to control the aRGB via software then you need a 5v header, which the motherboard doesn’t have.

I also need to add two 120mm fans to the mix, so perfect world would be a USB controlled aRGB box of some sort with at least four headers. If I could get one in a bundle with two fans that would be great.

Any suggestions? Everything I’ve found so far is just a hub, not a controller.

You can borrow mine to try?

I personally have this and it works fine
Check this out on takealot: Raidmax Addressable RGB LED Hub/Lighting Control Box with Remote Control

You can use this as a splitter (which I do) or you can use it as a controller. It has 1x 5v input if you should decide to use it as a splitter (which doesn't apply for you right now but maybe later) or you can use it as a lighting control hub controlled via the remote. Hope this helps

Not bad. I’d prefer software control over a remote, but it’s a functional solution nonetheless. Thanks 👍🏻
