It can cost around R2500.00 (could be more) to open to other networks. Not sure on how reliable this is.

Went through the unlocking process a few years ago. What you need to do is have the original owner of the device contact the network and ask them to provide the unlock code for it. It is usually a quick process. If I remember correctly, it will help if you have the original sim for it as well.

The unlocking process where you pay for it takes around 48hrs, but some of those services are dodge AF.
