Apex Legends

It seems there is a secret menu, if you start the game but don't click to continue and you leave it for ~30 seconds, you then click quit but cancel that a new option pops up called data centre. This then lists all the data centres plus your ping to them and if you choose one it changes it to your default. I set mine to Brussels with 180ms.

The latest error....
Yes game I just ripped my new 2080Ti out...

Had untrusted drivers errors. This easyanticheat crap!!!!!

@PancakesZA Anything is worth a try but I think it's a RTX compatibility issue for the most part.

For those that are having troubles with the game crashing to Desktop without any error, here is what I did to "fix" it. I've gone from crashing every 1-2 games during the week to playing for hours with a crash here and there. For reference, I have a i7 6700k overclocked to 4.5Ghz, 16 GB RAM and a GTX 1080.

First, I turned some of my graphics settings down. My settings are maxed out (at 1920 x 1080 resolution) apart from the following:
  • Texture streaming budget set to Very High (6GB)
  • Ambient Occlusion Quality set to Disabled
  • Spot Shadow Detail set to High
  • Volumetric Lighting set to Disabled
Second, I deleted the temporary folders that Origin creates. Before doing the below, make sure to quit Origin and make sure nothing Origin related is running in the background (such as OriginWebHelperService.
  • In Run (WinKey + R), type in %ProgramData%
  • Open the Origin folder
  • Delete everything apart from LocalContent
  • In Run (WinKey + R), type %AppData%
  • Delete the Origin folder in Roaming
  • Go back one folder and go into Local
  • Delete the Origin folder
  • Open Origin and log back in
This might not work for everybody, but after trying a bunch of solutions this is what finally made the game playable for me.

Thanks bud, but I'm not interested in playing at the moment. The devs can sort their shit out, then I'll play again.
The game is on it's own ssd, fresh drivers, downloaded it again. Not much I can do from my side anymore.

This game is actually really fun. a pity my internet is so trash lately that I can't actually get to enjoy it properly..

but wingman op

For anyone wondering, you can select your region/server location by repeatedly pressing escape on the title screen till the "Data centre" tab shows up :D
So you essentially quit to desktop, then press escape on the pop up that asks if you're sure you want to quit.
(might take a few attempts) @Jack_Bauer_ZA

Works for me hehe thanks

You don't have to repeatedly press escape, leave it on the click to continue screen for 30 seconds, press escape and cancel it, the data centre item shows right up first time every time.

Thanks for the tip on selecting region. I knew it was possible but I got to it by disabling my ethernet connection, forcing the game to time out and display the option.

For reference, the post earlier from MyBB about deleting temp files was mine (I am -Misfit- on MyBB). I have no idea if it will work for everyone but it made the game playable for me. For reference, it was a combination of this post and this post. If I get frequent crashes I just delete the temporary folders again, which I only had to do twice over the weekend with 20+ hours of playing.

Other people have suggested fiddling with your audio settings in Windows, such as here.

Game is awesome, I hate pubg and fortnight. This has really sucked me in. Got a about 150 kills with one of the characters. Longbow or any other sniper and peace keeper player here.

Ps4 - Warbear420
Pc - Nemathona( gfs account. Don't ask haha)
If anyone wants to jam. I'm loving the game apart from the lag... Love the prowler with hop up and extended mag. Can almost spray a whole team down...

Also loving this game. very fast paced compared to PUBG. Still getting used to the mechanics of the game, and I always forget I have abilities at my disposal.
Still no win for me.... but it will come!

I tried this and it's not working :( I cant play cuz I get killed everytime cuz of server issues.

When I press esc it gets stuck like shown in pic

The constant crashing has really put me off of this game. Crash like every 3rd game. Driver update did nothing, neither did clean install to latest. Moved game to different drive and still crash. Disabled all overlays and still crash. Will try the Asus apps suggestion and the older drivers but if those don't work the fuck this game.

I had the same issue tonight . 8 games and about 40 crashes, kicks, freezes ... it was so weird hahaha I rate the next update will sort it out :)

But has there been any feedback from the devs on when this update will be and what is the cause of the constant crashes that SOME players are experiencing?
I have done some googling but could find anything from the devs even stating that they are looking into this (could be wrong dont twatter or facepalm)
This game has the potential to be a Fortbuilder contender but not if they dont fix this ASAFP!

I have disabled all ASUS apps and services that is save to do so, will check what happens.
(Nothing like being one of the last 2 squads and then game crash. has happen far too many timers

I guess it depends on feedback from people who are having crashes. Personally I haven't had a single crash since downloading at launch.

@Doom5003 have you tried the following? My setup is very close to yours and it solved my crashing.

EDIT: Forget to mention, I also installed NVIDIA 417.71 drivers (rolled back from latest).

I played my first 4 solo games no problem, then squad with 2 friends and all the weird stuff started, kicking us to lobby at random times , game saying enemy here all the time and crashing with the need to reload game :/

I will give it some time, looks cool but I prefer the realism of PubG still
