Hi guys,

First time alarm buyer here. Anyone here using a Paradox MG5050 alarm ? How is it ?

Which remotes are you using (REM2 seems quite popular) and what is the range like when arming/disarming ?
Does the signal pass through brick walls fairly easily ?

Is it better to go with a 433MHz setup for better range but I heard its more susceptible to jamming (even with a gate remote ?) Or go with a 868Mhz setup with less range but that is harder to jam ?

Anyone using the REM101 panic button and what is the range like ?

Any tips for the best placement of wireless passives like the PMD2 ? Avoid pointing to windows due to the heat ?

Appreciate all the advice. Thanks.

I have installed 100's of these panels in my life, very reliable and robust panel with some of the latest technology. Can be hooked up to the net with a ip150 module this will enable you to use the app on smartphone to control the alarm.

The rem2 is a 2way remote (what this means is you can verify if the alarm is armed or disarmed by using the information button) . If you have a normal signal story house without any beams and steal inside the concrete you wont have any problems with range.

433Mhz usually works great for single story houses but will recommend using 866Mhz when you have a double volume house as the signal penetrates the concrete much better.

The PMD2 passives must be installed at around 2.1m high and uses 3 x AA batteries. All passives are fully monitored ( Low Battery, RF Jamming, Tamper switch) .

I would recommend installing the passives in corners as you get better coverage and it just works better you should not have any problems if you point the passive directly at a window

Hope this helps
