Hi guys, for the past couple weeks I have been noticing dropouts on connections with webafrica (netflix, teleconferences etc).
I have been testing over the last few days and noticed that this happens every 10 minutes for exactly 10s, a colleague of mine also on webafrica in durban has noticed something similar.
Whats really interesting is that it is not all connections.
For example I open two windows - with one pinging 216.58.223.26 continuously and the other pinging 216.58.223.132 continuously (both google IP addresses in USA).
Every ten minutes the 216.58.223.26 connection will drop (and so will a lot of other services I am using) for a total of 10-12 seconds, but during this time I see replies coming from 216.58.223.132. After 10 seconds the 26 address replies again.
Would be interested to know if anyone else in Durban (or elsewhere for that matter) is seeing this too? I posted this same topic on mybroadband and there is a guy from Margate experiencing this. Interested to know how big the problem is.
Webafrica sent a openserver guy to my house who said that the line is fine but I expected this as some connections are working. I don't know what webafrica is going to to from here.
I used an axxcess prepaid adsl account last night on my router and it worked fine so it looks like a webafrica issue to me.
