Yes yes, I know, pre-ordering is baaad. Don't do it etc. We done? Cool.

In other countries you get physical books etc when you pre-order at a retailer, but I haven't found anything like that here.
Is there any benefit (like in-game credits or something) to pre-ordering? Do you think the price will go up on launch?

Honestly I don't think there's any benefit besides a tiny lead time for download?
I only pre-ordered because #1 I know it's gonna be amazing and #2 I took advantage of one of the Steam discounts here on Carb :)

#justdoit
I don't advocate pre-orders but for me this was the exception.
We know it sgoing to be an amazing game, all their games before have been.....
I don't think we had access to the physical editions in SA besides the Collectors edition. If you really want a book I would suggest getting the hardcover one that is available. Really a great read but looks like it's onky amazon that has a copy atm

Highly unlikely CDPR will push price up on launch. But man, it's CP2077. First game I've pre-purchased since the launch debacle that was NMS. This game is gonna be ridiculous.

Another thing to note - this is a game I would consider buying directly from gog.com instead of Steam. I know it's slightly more expensive (R 859 vs R 799) but every cent of that will go straight to the developer, as opposed to Steam taking a cut.

Not a big deal, but I think it could be worth it in this situation.

Oh definitely.
GOG all the way. Wouldn't buy on any platform even if its cheaper.

You get the enjoyment when they delay it again, and have the great feeling of being treated like an idiot -_-. But also yeah I don't believe there is any preorder incentive, just preload I guess.

Also does GOG finally do multiplayer (not direct connection)? Asking because CP2077 will have MP added next year. So just like a heads-up , unless they are able to do something about drmless MP for this game.

I did pre-order also for the same reason and I didn't know any benefits from it.

There are no pre-order benefits in-game. Which is one of the things I actually like.
Everyone gets the same game.
The only real difference is that the collectors edt gets that insane statue.

By pre-ordering you are only supporting the company and irrespective of the delays, its going to be an amazing game and I will gladly wait for it.

+1

One of the pre orders that was available after I pre ordered had a tiny figurine, a key ring and a booklet which you received for pre ordering from the one site online. Unfortunately for my pre order I received nothing at all besides delays to the game ETA

I don't see much of a difference between buying now vs when it releases. I prefer buying a game a day or two before release day as I might be invested into something else (other hobby/game/away), and spend the money when I feel like it'll be worth it at the time.

I ended up only buying it in January when the prices tanked. Cost something like R500 instead of the R800 I was about to spend on pre-order…
