Another dead drive / data recovery thread .

So with the New Year comes new problems .
Dreaded clicking noise on a very important hard drive.
It doesn’t pickup as a secondary so no hope of recovering my info the easy way.
I don’t want to chance it by opening the drive and trying to repair myself.

Anyone have the tools to assist or can point me to someone solid that can recover the data ?

Good Day members , just sharing an awful experience here .
the drive in question belongs to a client with very important data on it .
no doubt it needs to be recovered , so ive google searched data recovery in johannesburg and this guys website came up .
Datarecover - the leader in Cost Effective Data Recovery
i gave him a call his name is Hendrik , sounded like a nice chap he assured me his been doing this for 12 years and can repair any drive within 2-3 days
its now 7 days later , my client is now very far up my @SS and im forced to be far up Hendrik's . he now is not taking my calls and claiming to still be busy with this . after ive already paid a somewhat "deposit of R1000 "
abit concerned , ive went on his Facebook Page and my heart just dropped a few beats .

this oke has been doing this shit since 2015 possibly even before
im now beyond pissed as the amount of chancers i've come across already since the year began is unbelievable .
should i take legal action or my own action ?

Southbit are all over MyBB and Carb for recoveries,if a client can't risk disk dying completely and losing data it gets shipped to Southbit to recover rather than trying the apps I have available
It's also a success fee rather than a risky deposit

Not knocking @ngoni615 what so ever, but for all concerned parties sake, rather go to Southbit. Yes it wont be free, but there is no deposit and no charge if they can't get the data.

While at it, start quoting the client for onsite and offsite backups, aswell as backup monitoring & reporting.

Lodge a case of fraud at SAPS, print out the FB page aswell. As much as going Rambo on his scamming as might feel right, you never know who this c**** knows & what levels he / they will stoop to, to get back at you or your family.

I have the drive with me. Going to give South it a shot .
Will post feedback.

I must add as a note , the Service from Hendrik ( the data recovery company ) is way worse than the reviews on his Facebook and Google page.
Absolutely pathetic, how this oke still has a business is a mystery.
