And how I resolved them...

First, I actually thought I was on 1803 all along but I was still on 1709. So I saw tonight it wanted me to restart and update, so I did. Updates ensued.

At that point, after the update finished, I thought, cool, new update, new GPU drivers so I updated to the latest AMD Adrenalin 18.5.1 package.

Bad idea. It's buggy on 1803, at least with my system.

Once it all completed Windows booted fine but my Eyefinity config was lost and the desktop wallpaper was set back to default. I was left with a single monitor. So I go into Display Settings, extend the desktop to my two side displays, which worked, but all of a sudden I'm getting bad mouse lag. And it wasn't just the mouse. Certain application processes seemed to be lagging as well. Like short little freezes. This drives me nuts.

So I use DDU to uninstall and then reinstall. Same result. Then I decide to go back to 18.2.1, which fixed the lag issue, but I couldn't open the Advanced Settings in Eyefinity to create my display group. It just refused to launch at all. If I had hair, I would have been pulling it, but I'm bald, so I was figuratively kicking myself in the nuts.

However. Come to find out, if you install C:\AMD\Win10-64Bit-Radeon-Software-Adrenalin-Edition-18.5.1-May23\Packages\Apps\CN\CCCSlim\Core-Static-Net4\ccc-slim.msi from 18.5.1, it fixes the Eyefinity Advanced Settings launch issue, even if you're running 18.2.1. But I wasn't cool with this approach. I'm OCD like that and prefer to use a driver that works uniformly as intended.

The solution? Use driver version 18.3.4. All is working fine now and I am happy. Didn't try the 18.5.2 beta, though.

I just thought it might be helpful to post this for other AMD RX-400 and 500 users.

Anyone else experience this problem? What say you?

Cheers :)

Yes I am currently experiencing this issue, and some other issues, RX470, win 1803. 2 mon setup. Have tried many drivers now as well as stress tested my system, will give 18.3.4 a try before going back to a earlier win build.

At least chatting to yourself you know your audience will always appreciate what you are saying

I'm glad someone saw this. I hope it helps man!
I am still having some issues, dragging a vid from one monitor to another will cause a black frame in the vid, also moving chrome from one mon to the other will minimize the vid, (MPC) is what I use, opening photoshop will also pause the vid for a moment when I launch it.

Did 18.3.4 not work?

Did you try v18.2.1 with C:\AMD\Win10-64Bit-Radeon-Software-Adrenalin-Edition-18.5.1-May23\Packages\Apps\CN\CCCSlim\Core-Static-Net4\ccc-slim.msi from 18.5.1 from v18.5.1?

18.3.4 did not work for me on win ver 1803 - but I then again I had issues even when using my IGP - so it is most def a issue with win ver 1803
I am currently on 17.7.1 haha after all the trouble I had I almost dont want to touch these AMD drivers again. I will most likely try to use a later version though, I think ill try the latest one again, haha maybe and report back.

running 18.3.4 - everything is fine and snappy - still on win 10 ver 1703 - very unlikely that I will update anytime soon.

nevermind - just got a bsod - watchdog.sys

forgot to install my chipset drivers after os install, have not had bsod again, photoshop performance also went up even more.

The only reason I wanted the v18.x.x drivers is because of Enhanced Sync. AFAIK it was not available in the v17 drivers.

Cheers :)

1803 is a load of shit just like macOS HS but worse.

Im glad im on build 1607

I'm running it fine without one issue. Different strokes. There are so many hardware and software variables with Windows it's difficult to come to a conclusion about what is actually "shit".

Cheers ;)

I had issues with 17.7.1 as well. now I am on 18.5.1 - testing it still for stability. will see if I can lend a GTX 1060 from someone to test, cause this is getting ridiculous.

Blame AMD and their crappy, buggy drivers.
You very rarely see these issues with Nvidia cards.
PS: I'm a big AMD fan but their drivers suck.

just got a bsod again, driver ver 18.5.1 - video scheduler internal error. think I am better off just using my intel hd graphics.

I am not so sure it's easy to point the finger at any one manufacturer/developer. Like I said in my previous post, I'm running 1803 with 18.3.4 smoothly and without issues.

There are so many variables at play here.

@Blood_Bought, did you try 18.3.4? If you're on W10 1703, maybe try 18.2.1?

Cheers :)
