Alu Cable Combs

Not to pour water on the Idea, as I think they are epic!

Thinking some people might be a bit dubious on the aluminium part (conductive) and the taking the connectors apart to add them into the cable.
Maybe an idea is to add the slitted version, same size hole, but just a slit on the ends to allow the cable to be squeezed through, but not come out easily?

Have been thinking of getting some of these for the new build, would prefer a black rubber/silicon over alu tbh though.

Yeah I was thinking that from one of the Hoomans on carb :)

well then go and request it in their 3D printing threads

I didn't like the outcome of the ones I bought as they weren't very clean, although I think someone with some time on their hands could get the printing done nicely

that could be an option as well @M@tree2 will have a test sample made once life is back to normal in this country

and well, these are definitely not things that just any user would buy and the whole de-pinning isn't as difficult, but yeah, selective

luckily I am not getting ahead of myself and trying to do side business out of this.... just for those that would want and willing to do the work

@Off-The-Chart Cool, will be keen to see what they look like.
THe reason I said 3D printing is because I have one and it makes really high quality prints, talking about 20 microns(according to my calipers), so for me to just whip up a sample is easy.
I want to sleeve my PSU cables/build custom ones, but I don't know where to get the connectors nor the paracord(after lockdown), any ideas?

well yeah, if you have a 3D printer then go for it

connectors and pins I would say go with BeyondCustoms, but if you dig deep/hard enough, you may get it from probably Communica/RS Components as well

sleeving (wow, you actually doing paracord??) you can look on like BidOrBuy or there is a tactical place I think somewhere in JHB that I bought mine from (will have a look if I can track down name)

think I even still have some pieces of para around here

Why are you surprised about the paracord?
THinking it's tactical distributions SA?
It's only the CPU/24 Pin/VGA?Molex cables to be done.
If it takes me 6 months to do the 4 cables I'm using, then so be it 😂.

Why are you surprised about the paracord? - cause these days people prefer the vibrant colors of MDPC
THinking it's tactical distributions SA? - checked now, it is Defensive Training Defensive Training Concepts

lol 6 months

After printing some of these, now understand why Aluminium exists, given it was PLA and they were only 2mm thick...

lol

nah, will definitely need to make them in the range of like 3-5mm

the alu ones I was going to check at 4.5mm (what the cutters had on hand)
