Helping out a friend with his Gigabyte Aero.

Laptop was bought in May 2017 from Evetech with a 2 year global warranty (stickers intact)

The laptop is stuck in a boot loop, and the boot drive is not showing up in the BIOS. I get quite a few Google hits on this issue and it seems that it is not uncommon for Aero boot drives to fail, sometimes right out of the box.. The unit is still within it's 2 year warranty and has not been through any user upgrades. Therefore I am planning to take it in for repair under warranty.

So this is my question: In terms of warranty repairs etc. I have read elsewhere on Carb that it is better and more efficient to approach Rectron directly than to go through the rigmarole that it seems Evetech puts customers through. Is this correct? Would appreciate any advice on how to get this sorted out as painlessly as possible.

Thanks in advance.

I would go directly to Rectron.
Evetech are going to take it to Rectron anyway ,so saves you time and hassle.
i don't think they will have an issue with you booking it in even if you are not a dealer.

Thanks for the reply @Petester . Is there any paperwork I should carry with me? Or will the serial numbers on the unit itself be sufficient. Right now I have the quote from Evetech for the purchase in my possession, but not the invoice.

PS: Phone them first though and make sure.

Should be fine . Quote and serial number . You can also ask Evetech for a copy of the invoice
