Hi there people,

So I have been doing business for a while. But holy fuck invoicing is kak.

I have seen a few companies that email me an invoice that I click on and pay online through gateways like Payfast.

I would love to be able to do that, to have a panel. Enter an email and have the invoice sent out.

Because this "creating an invoice and checking if its paid" bullshit needs to fucking stop.

Thank you

I use sage online. It has everything you need but it is R250 a month so might not be ideal.

another vote for SAGE online here.

The amount of time it will save, plus you can sync it with your bank account and keep your financials up to date... I invoiced for a long time by manually doing it... I will never go back now. Also... I have some products I'm building which will be integrating into this and Xero... so one click from job card to invoiced ... boom!

Another vote for sage online, and my mother in law is a reseller / business advisor. Can put you in contact with her if you want

I use a self hosted version of invoice ninja and it's free.

+1 for Invoice Ninja. Doesn't have the nifty payment gateway AFAIK but it makes it really easy to track what's paid/not paid/overdue etc.
Free version has their logo at the bottom of the invoice; $8 or $12 /month for the paid versions.

you can remove that logo from their invoice at a cost.. Will just need to check what it was again

I am sitting with the same issue, we currently make use of pastel for payroll and quickbooks for invoicing and quotes. with a bunch of excel spread sheets. it feels like sooooooooo much double work. and none of the software we have is web based.

This is still very common from what I've seen over the last while. If you want to chat options/advice/spitball drop me a PM.

Invoices Online is what I use, pretty easy to get the hang of and I think its a South African company too.

Sage Online would solve all those issues bud

1+ for invoice ninja. One of the options is self hosting it on your own server. This requires abit of extra work but you can remove the logo for 20$ per year on the self hosted option, host it under your own domain I.e. invoices.domain.co.za and integrate with the payfast payment gateway and have clients pay directly through there.

This is what i meant ... on your self hosted if you want the logo removed you can but at a cost of course

Also going to recommend Sage Online as I have personally been trained on it and it's extremely simple and user friendly for anyone. I'm also sure you can get a tutorial or go on a training course for it.

I'm just not sure on the payment gateway as we don't have to work with those so much when doing the course as part of our degree.

Does invoice ninja sync bank feeds etc?
Just asking because that feature is a BIG drawcard for sage online for me.

No unfortunately not. Honestly that's one of the biggest reasons I've been looking at the alternatives

Yeah... the bank feeds are epic. I set up "rules" then it autoallocates stuff to the correct accounts etc.
Linking incoming amounts to specific customer invoices is great because you always know how much a client owes you... in a previous company I owned we didn't use a proper online accounting package and when they short/underpaid and later asked for a statement I had to manually calculate stuff. It's definitely worth the couple hunnit a month.

Hello :)

Zoho software has been my best solution to date, after trying all the ones listed above and some extras.. Starting with Zoho invoice is a great start and you can start adding the additional CRM later

Hope that helps

At my previous work I used Wave Apps. Pretty neat and easy to use, 100% free.

FNB has free tools for business account holders AFAIK.
What do you use for job cards?

If you reqister a business account, then all the major banks (I know ABSA, FNB does) give you access their accounting system package, that does invoicing, payroll, yearly financial statements for free.

But business bank account, means registering with CIPC, SARS, Financial statements to be prepared by an accountant..lots of red tap. And if you starting out then, this can be very costly??!!

If you are looking for a basic, free invoice system i recommend Wave Apps. You can add your logo and keep track of your funds coming in and going out. It is really great. It doesn't have the online payment features though but you can simply sign up for a PayFast account and send generated invoices through there for your clients to click and pay!
