I have no idea what this stuff costs, if someone with klowledge could DM me and help me understand how this all works.

Item: Adobe Photoshop or CS
Price: R500? No clue

FYI

As far as I know CS has become Creative Cloud which is a subscription based service. They offer just photoshop as an option.

Try Affinity Photo. It’s available on Windows and Mac, similar to Photoshop wrt to layout, tools etc but can be bought for a once-off fee.

I used to subscribe to Photoshop CC but cancelled it once I realized that Affinity Photo did everything I needed. It even supports the PSD file format.

So is it no longer possible to get standalone Adobe stuffs?
Nope... I can't justify their subscription as a "hobbyist". I've bought Affinity Photo to replace Photoshop, Capture One for Lightroom and DaVinci Resolve is free, for Premier.

I see this is on a 30% off for R549.
Do you perhaps know of another place to it cheaper, or is that a good price?

Had a look and seems pretty decent as a photoshop alternative.

I also bought the Painter Humble Bundle. Comes with Paintshop Pro 2020 Ultimate and other items, which is not bad for $25.

Seriously, try photopea.com . Works natively with PSD, Corel Draw, and way more file types. Does anything I need to do in photoshop.

Just go take a look, even if you come back and tell me you need more.

Nope, that's pretty cheap as is. Before Photoshop went with the subscription model it used to sell for a whole lot more.

Looks quite cool actually, ill give it a test go a bit later on something small, I would just be worried about how much power it has. i have PS on my work pc and i use GIMP at home. Weirdly enough i like gimp more but it lacks a few things that PS has and no matter what i do i cant get gimp to have the same quality of out put as PS at the end of the day and i feel that an online editor might give even less.

I think it all comes down to what you need it for, if its for real work, you need to pay for a decent product.
