Bump, if you have something that isn't on the list I'm all ears as well.

Even better if it's sealed. The vast majority of my games are. PM me your price :)

I'm assuming you dont want the cheaper versions either.

Just curious, I'm a bit of a collector myself, albeit a small one, what's the appeal of keeping things sealed in their plastic wrap?

I get it from a value point of view, I have this dilemma when I buy new sealed items from eBay and then open them, but things are meant to be used and appreciated, right? You can't do that if it's sealed and packaged up imo.

Also, post some pics of your collection? :p

The same as collecting Brilliant Uncirculated/Mint State coins I guess. You either get it or you don't.

There are many, many ways to play a game without opening a physical copy. Abandonware, Steam, you name it.

There are quite a few on the list that I already have on Steam - all of the Quake games, all of the The Elder Scrolls games, Half-Life, all the Oddworld games, Homeworld and Homeworld 2, all the Tomb Raider games, all the Thief games, some of the Star Wars games, etc.

Other than that, there are a lot on that list that I have played already. I just went through the list and I have played 91 of the games listed. I and won't play again, though. I did that with Need for Speed II: Special Edition about a decade ago, and with a Glide wrapper it looked worse than I remembered the software renderer to look. Nostalgia is a TERRIBLE thing - your memories are disguised by rose-tinted glasses. In these situations it's best to remember the good times than to try to relive them.

So why do I collect them? Because I enjoy collecting games from what was, in my opinion at least, the absolute pinnacle of gaming. I don't buy a single game for its resale value. Let's assume I buy an old sealed game for R 20. Whether someone offered me R 10 or R 100 for the game is irrelevant. Unless I really need that R 100 and know I'll get the game again, I ain't selling it.

As for my collection, once I've moved in the next 2-3 months (hopefully) I plan to have a cabinet for my games. They're currently packed away in my Corsair 800D box and three other large boxes. I estimate that there are approximately 300-400 games in total, including duplicates. I've bought Battlefield Vietnam twice on this very forum forgetting that I already have it. I've bought Collectors Editions already having the standard game (on purpose). I've bought the Age of Empires II Gold Edition already having both The Age of Kings and the The Conquerors expansion pack (again, on purpose). I will take any and every edition of a game other than those crappy Exclusive blue boarder/Super Hits/Classic re-releases that include nothing but a low res image of the original cover on the packaging and a single DVD inside.

One other thing I would love is the old Age of Empires Collector's Edition - the massive cardboard box that included the first two games and their expansion packs, trading cards, the sound track on CD, art book, etc. I can't find any info on it online, but this over here:

I remember seeing it in CNA for R 600 back in around 2001/2002 every single time I was at the mall for moooonths. Damn I wanted it badly.

Anything here sir? I'll have to check for disks if you're interested in any. I have a massive CD case of discs without cases. Think all the original tomb raiders are there without cases though :(

Gratis of course, for your service around here.

Edit: I see Hitman 2, Commandos, Half life on your list

Awesome I'll go through them tomorrow. Some keys may be registered and used? If they're just for display it should be chilled

Epic :D

I don’t think many (if any) of the above are tied to digital accounts, but ultimately they are indeed for show :)

I might still have it , will check tonight
