A good plex client for non smart tv

So I'm using the MI box s, everything works perfect. Direct play for everything, no lag, h265 works. Gonna test some more but by the looks of things this is the device to stick with

I am checking out emby as we speak, try it out seems like it might be less intensive on the hardware (might be the new server) gonna check how 4K 7.1 surround version of dark Phoenix runs in Plex now but the emby run was smooth like butter

thanks for this one

also want to just have a dedicated TV box in the lounge and have the media box with me where I can put it on UPS and be assured that no itchy fingers are anywhere near it

(as it also stores the majority of like family content, losing that is going to make everyone cry so I try best to not let that happen, but kids will be kids.... or cleaning ladies)

will be looking at the Mi Box S as well

More feedback on my time with the MI box s from last night, the initial setup was very simple as it has the option to import network settings and apps from an android phone.
The UI is quite smooth, android TV home screen is a breeze to get customized how you like it.
No issues on plex at all, all media played perfectly, note that I did not try 4k as I only have a full HD TV.
My router is on the complete opposite end of the house, I have a cheapo repeater halfway and this is what the box connects to. No lag with direct play like I had on the other Android box. Movies start up immediately and don't buffer.
The kids hdd is connected to the box, using mx player all their movies show up there. I do have their stuff on plex but don't want them using it since they would have access to my stuff as well
