so im in the market for a new board/cpu/ram upgrade and am sitting at around 9k to spend , looking for advice on whether to go ryzen 3600x or i5 9600k . Looking into retailers and such theres just so much information and new tech and this and that , its kinda overwhelming so i come here seeking some recommends :3 rig will be used primarily for gaming ;)

thanks in advance

get the 3600 and a good cooler, the stock one is noisy and not good if you want to OC it.

Never thought this day would come. Go AMD, the new CPUs are amazing value for money

I see people saying this everywhere but if i compare prices , the 9600k (with board and ram) runs pretty much around the same price as the 3600x , am i missing something ?

If you are going to game you can't go wrong with either. They are certainly neck and neck performance wise

Both are extremely good for gaming and so to speak they perform neck and neck. I would advise you to base your decision more so based on the price of motherboards as well as the price of RAM, since amd cpu's perform better at higher clock speed RAM and intel generally isn't effected much by RAM speeds. Note that higher clocked RAM can sometimes burn a hole in one's pocket. Finally i would like to end by saying that neither one matters and that except for the above mentioned reasons your final decision should be a good one in the sense that intel outperforms amd in some games and vise versa

.

The gaming performance is very similar, even should you overclock both, in some game the 9600k will probably be a bit faster.
But if you do any content creation, video editing, streaming, photoshop the AMD is better, newer architecture. Simple decision to make really.

Plus the new boards have PCIE Gen 4, And the new NVME SSDs on there are ^%%^&* fast. so that would be a selling feature for me at least

I would rather go X570. But depends.

What do you want to do with the PC exactly is the question? Thats a really good combo make no mistake. But it's missing the awesome things like PCIE Gen 4 and M.2 Gen 4

man i understand your excitement with the x570 boards but they are CRAZY expensive , i have 9k - that bundle is pretty much my limit ya feel:ROFLMAO:

Consider this maybe?

Total R7944

Add a decent cooler, this one is a decent 120mm air cooler, if you dont mind air coolers

or this if you want a beefy 140mm cooler

I dont know too much about AIO liquid coolers to recommend one.

The only thing I’d change of that is the RAM.

I’d get 3400mhz CL14 modules, but they are fucking expensive so that’s a factor.

Other than that, the 3600X is great.
