Some routers def have higher power cpus that will work harder on faster connections, some routers even has RGB which uses more power :p
Good to know, I guess it's common sense the more I think about it haha.

This is just an update for those still on the fence about this purchase. I am using this to power my 9V router and 12W external Ubiquiti antenna. My internet speed is 8mbps (all I can get out here, pay 950 a month lol). This ups lasted me 4 hours from 5 pm to 9 pm today and still had over 25% worth of charge. Can see it lasting between 5-6 hours for me on one charge, maybe more. Have a feeling the faster your internet is the faster this ups will drain (maybe someone can test? Throttle their connection during loadshedding and note down times?). This ups supposedly supports up to 100mbps, but throttling down to around 10 is not too bad. Perfect for Youtube and makes loadshedding smoother. So yes can HIGHLY recommend this. It's only R400 bucks so do yourself a favour :) Hope this helps you guys!
I have one powering my ONT only. Yesterday I was loadshed from 2pm to 6pm and the ups powered my ONT the whole time and with 75% left. A+ recommend the device, but recommended @GadgetGremlin 's service even more.

So for a 500mb up/200mb down line this wouldn't be recommended?
For the ONT, if there is a difference, it will be so small that it wouldn't matter (i.e within margin of error on measurements).

What makes a bigger difference is the WiFi/router device that is also connected. In a WiFi device, the radios are quite power hungry relative to other devices. Many cheapo devices have 1 (2.4Ghz) radio or possibly 2 (2.4Ghz and 5Ghz) and high-end devices can have 4+ radios. In addition to that, the CPU in the router will also contribute to the overall power draw.

However, if you have the devices that are issues with your ISP, they are usually cheaper (i.e. lower power) devices and should be fine.

I run an 8 port (managed) switch, ONT and an i5 5200 mini PC all for < 1.6A average @12v. (no wifi)

Closing the thread for now. Most stock has been sold pending a few clients picking up the last few left. Thanks for all the support everyone. I will reopen if I still have any left or run into any more.
