6 surprising downsides of being being extremely intelligent

You start stuttering while typing, end up repeating words like "being"...

Is this Facebook now? I'd like to know the suprising advantages of being a procrastinator next please... Oh wait! Or how being an introvert makes you a better person, that'll really make my day!

Salty much? I made these sections for people to share articles they find interesting. So share some instead of just grumbling

The worst port of it is the automatic superiority complex. So hard not to treat someone as inferior who comes off a bit dim. And even harder to try an explain things at their level without forgetting to mention steps you simply take automatically and/or being condescending.

Also, do not start a sentence with "And"

Heh. I start plenty of sentences with And, I know it's bad form but sometimes it's just called for.

And yes I make a metric tons of typos. I never see them though till I read the post again a few hours later or someone points them out.

IFLS is not click fodder

It's certainly not the worst out there but it's still a click farm between the slightly better articles. Put it this way, I won't be getting my scitech news from them anytime soon.

No offense meant at all, but I don't really see the issue with posting it.

None taken, he's free to post whatever, just as I can say it's clickbait nonsense. This is a forum after all.

I take it you've never followed IFLS before? If you did you'd know headlines like that don't pop up that often and they're a proper science site. You'll also notice that even though the headline might sound like typical clickbait sites, the info is qualified and informative.

We shall agree to disagree!

That last point is the opposite of the Dunning-Kruger effect. And unfortunately the Dunning-Kruger effect is the single biggest reason the world is in the state that it is in.

Discover smarts early on = don't learn how to work hard, as per the bait text

this leads to

procrastinating and applying said smarts to get it done a bit closer to the deadline than is ideal

separately

an introvert (not keyboard warrior) is generally not as loud (perceived as rude by some) and more thoughtful (purely a (miss)perception formed because of the lack of quick fire action seen from others or unwillingness to pipe up on a topic, effectively not leading to inconveniencing people)

and that is why an introvert is not a better person, but why @Flex is the best man for @ViVceptioN

Very interesting read. And it is scarily accurate. I always tell my wife that I wish I could work so hard as her, then things would go better with me. But never have I needed to work super hard. Now it is finally catching up on me.
