I have a 970 Evo in my personal pc for my OS and I can't tell the difference between a SATA SSD and the M.2 once you have a SATA SSD for OS anything faster is just diminishing returns. It's not gonna be the same as going from HDD to SSD for an OS drive. Stuff like video editing and CAD if I'm not mistaken will see a huge benefit but not an OS drive. I have not installed any games on my M.2 so I can't speak for game load times.

If you have a bunch of stuff on start up it might make sense but in that case just clean up your pc and pocket the extra cash or get a bigger SATA SSD for more or less the same price.
