3D Printing.. where you guys at!!!

I have an Ender 3 Pro Silent, and I can really recommend ANYTHING that makes these machines quieter *. Now that I have the silent edition there isn't a lot of incentive to get an SKR mini V2 upgrade board, but if I had to do this again I'd do the Pro+SKR.

Not sure what impact the new 32bit boards from Creality will have on the market, but I really like the provisioned upgraded-ability of the SKR boards.

(*Edit: This isn't saying the v2 isn't silent/quieter or a good machine, I just like to tinker a little more with the machine)

Agreed, the silent board is an absolute must!

But for the fastest out of box experience and well priced, the V2 is silent and is one of the most complete and ready to go printers at the moment.

Agreed (For the price obviously).

I absolutely love DIY electronics - But if you in Gauteng and want to save R200 (almost 1KG of Filament), go with 3drone as mentioned earlier in the thread (35 in stock)

Yeah, you right! Didn't see that. I had an old reminder on DIYElec, and remembered the thread.

Good afternoon.
Anybody here knows where I can buy an E3D Titan Aero hot end?
I can get it from E3D directly for 104 pounds, but then the shipping is 58 pounds.
I finish my DIY Hypercube Evolution 3D printer. It's just the printhead that is missing.
Thanks in advance.
Cheers

So got my ender 3 v2 yay
Putting it all together and I see this stupid plug.

Anybody else get this plug at all?

Will a normal travel plug work or do I need to be careful about anything blowing up.

Finally I can add some pics,
Most of my aethetic mods done that I had my eye on doing

Some v slot covers
Filament guide
Spatular holder
Extuder clips
And daisy chain links for the psu cable that is annoying at the back, that kept bumping into my pront bed when printing.

And those 30 daisy clips completes my first over 10 hour straight print job

Absolutely love this machine, zero hiccups, very precise

Excellent job! It took me a very long time before I attempted long prints like that, and you sommer go straight for a multipart. You have cojones.

It's looking very sharp, keep posting your prints!

Haha thanks man,

Ye thought well why not try out a long print, get it out the way and see how this machine handles, and really really loving it.

Going to start doing my sim racing parts next

Will post as i go along :)

Howsit gents,

Recently installed an all metal extruder and upgraded the bowden system on my Ender 3. Print quality is very similar, guess I replaced it in time.

Do any of you have a 3D printer with 400mm print size in x or y direction? I want to print a sample of my stl before I invest in the Extender Kit.

Any thoughts?

I have been checking this out for a bit now, its sooo tempting

Ender Extender 400 V2

Yeah that's the kit! I just can't justify it for a few prints.

Ye i hear you, i am in the same boat,

I want to print some props like full size masks and that, but for the price i am almost half way to buying another printer , so can just as well split the prints .

Decisions i tell you

There are a few automotive and keyboard related prints I want to do, without splitting. Just not sure if it is worth it yet.

A resin printer is next on the list though.

If you ain't doing miniatures, resin is overrated IMO.

I agree with you, especially if you own a decent FDM printer already.

I mainly want to print keycaps and other small electronic/craft related prints that my printer is not able to do. My sister also owns a jewelry range that is taking off, this will help with the development there as my Ender 3 just can't do the detail they're after. Not really a valid reason to buy something in my personal capacity, but any reason to justify the silly purchases right?

On the topic of resin printers... What is our local 'champion'?

Is there an Ender 3 equivalent in the resin printing world?

@Mb12 has mentioned a few to me, but they are all only available through china express.

Just keep in mind that the LCDs on the resin printers are consumable items and really don't last long - if you average 1000hrs on a panel, you are doing well. Those with monochrome panels last a lot longer, but AFAIK nothing is available locally, and all of them are still quite expensive.
