3D Printing.. where you guys at!!!

Does anyone know where I can buy Black and white PLA filament under R300 a 1kg roll?

I'm busy Printing Settlers of Catan and my white filament just ran out... I am planning to paint the blocks

You planning to pick up where you you left off with that print?
Why not print with whatever color you have and give it a few quick coats of white spray paint after?

I am printing them hexagon at a time. They take small magnets to keep them together.

I will need filament in the future as well so I might as well just buy the color I am using for all the other blocks.

I only have about 3/4 roll blue left...

Cheapest I know of is Filament Factory, the local manufacturers. If you order in bulk you get fat discounts. 11+ spools and it costs R230 per KG.

Only problem is lead time. Either the orders are flooding in and he cannot keep up the manufacturing, or he only manufacturers as and when he feels like it. Current lead time seems to be about a month

so i want entirely happy with the one i made, so ive made a few more changes, and v3 has been completed, think v3 is closer to being a perfect copy of the logo

Wow...........gonna try this one :

I printed this ages ago - some proper black magic fuckery :ROFLMAO: Not the easiest of prints too - was a whole lot of trial and error - but i see there's quite a bit of tips for printing now.

Anyone try printing keycaps? Might the details be to little to keep someone from trying this? Or is it the costs involved that would make it not profitable considering the price of just outright buying them?
I believe if it could be done and done right, there should be a market for it, especially for the customs keyboard groups.

People have modeled them, cant say I've tried it to print it, the finishing would be interesting. cherry keycap , PUBG keycap
Would be happy to print a few test keys for someone

Interesting. I never even thought of doing that with my filament printers, but it could work nicely with a resin printer.

I think the surface quality of the FDM printers leaves a lot to be desired.

Think keycaps are better suited to resin printers

One just might be able to get good results using ABS and perhaps some vapor smoothing. Might.

Would be an interesting experiment.

test one on the printer as we speak, about 50 min, @ 0.08 layers for the skull caps key.
the files seems they did go resin, but running the test on the cr10sPro

Please post your results :D

I'm wondering, is it possible to laser etch onto 3d printed keycaps?

After a light sand and 1 coat metallic blue, the supports were absolute PITA, not sure if it would actually fit, but in concept it seems sound.
