Hi All
i have access to a 3d resin printer, that can cater for various industries.

i have used it in my business for years, but looking to diversify the offering and broaden the scope of offering

is 3D printing more for the hobbyist, or is there demand for this service.

thanks

Is The response to this thread a representation of the demand for 3D printing ?

There is a huge demand if you find that niche that nobody else has thought of or created yet.

I have found a small Lil niche that I created and it's taking off and that is working quite well for me :)

What is the size that you are able to print? Would you be able to say print a motorcycle fairing?

I can print 145x145 x185

What is a motorcycle pairing ? [emoji23]

Thanks for the update, anything that fits within the dimensions of the build size can be printed

I think the challenge is going to be costs and time and complexity. Resin printing is great but the small build volume is going to limit what you can print. Injection molding and other faster, cheaper and easier methods exists for a reason. Quick, easy and cheap. 3D printing is the antithesis of all those pros mass production offers. Not to mention niche items would need to be modelled. Modelling is massively time consuming and laborious.
Bike fairings on that build volume is near impossible IMHO.
Opinions based on off the shelf resin printers.

Industrial SLA printers would be a different conversation. Then too, one off items for a one off sale would make it unviable. Plus industrial printers cost lots of bitcoins :D

We had to go with resin due to the accuracy needed in the prints, as we deal with very fine details.
As mentioned before, it’s a niche and need to find that niche that it can be utilised

Once you have paid R1m for the machine and +- R30k per actual mould for said item, it gets quick, easy and cheap.

I need a chain cover. Would this be possible
