Good Day,

I'm looking to buy a 3D printer for some custom toys I want to build,
My budget is around R5000-R10000 (new/old)
I would like a print bed of 300x300x300 or more.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

New stock of 3d printers should be coming in about 2 months. Very few are still available (a few Anet's and maybe a CR-10 Max or 2).

Your upper end matches exactly the new price of a CR-10s Pro (not V2), unless the prices go up with the new shipments. The CR-10s Pro has a 300x300x400 build volume so that also fits.

I was very lucky to secure a 2nd hand CR-10s Pro, so perhaps a little bit of patience could save you a lot of money. That being said, I would have been more than happy to buy a brand new one if there were any available. I have yet to take her for a spin, but it seemed like a good option for me.

I was looking at it, but after recalculating my budget its a little on the edge,
I've released that with my budget I won't be able to have a big print bed,
I have seen this one Tevo DIY 3D Printer – Tarantula Pro,
It's not big but a starter.

Yes, second hand is my second option, I'd like to get a new one, but if I get a second hand one for a decent price, I may consider it.

Hmmm, if I was buying for myself, for that amount I would definitely rather get a Creality Ender 3 Pro SE (Silent Edition). Price is the same, but there are sooooo many spares, and a lot of advice and tutorial vids, etc.

For your budget, I'd rather go with an Ender 5 - offers you the best of both worlds - the awesomeness that is the Ender 3 and the larger build volume. I can attest to the Ender 5 capability and reliability, it's an Ender after all.

Silent vs standard is much of a muchness IMO - if you want to save costs and can live with some motor noises - the standard option is budget friendly. I will however say the silent Ender 5 is silent as all fark

Word of advice - when buying 3D printers - you really don't want to wander off the beaten track in terms of buying from manufacturers with poor after sales support and a poor consumer base where you can find answers to any issues that may come up. Consumer 3D printing is fraught with issues, they will come up, it's just part of it.

Ahhh yes! The Ender 5 is a bit bigger! And quite close in price.

@Qui_Illustrati got me started on this path. I bought one of his old printers and then the bug bit me. Printing as we speak

As he says, the big names seem safer. I keep reading about people sukkeling with Anet and random knockoff Prusa i3's.

Glass beds are way better for certain use cases. It does have certain drawbacks though like proper adhesion, added weight etc. There are fixes for that too. 3D printing world has fixes and mods for everything Start with the normal bed, you can always buy a piece of glass the size of your bed and replace the default one for dirt cheap when you want to progress
