  • 2 x Apple 85W MagSafe 2 Power Adapters
Battery condition: cycle count is 584 and shows that battery must be serviced (there are procedures to reset it available online)

Have you tried resetting the battery with the procedures that you mention?
It needs a new battery if you are worried about the capacity. They say it takes 1000 cycles for 80% of the battery to be used up. Reseting it won't change the fact that is a battery with over 500 cycles

My wife's has 287 battery cycle and it has the same "service battery" message.
It's not always about replacing the battery. Sometimes it's just a disconnect between software and hardware.
584 cycles is not a lot for a Mac and still has a lot to go to a 1000.
If the OP can clear the message, then it's definitely worth considering.
Hence my original question.
