i think i still have one that needs a stand do you need the stand aswell?

nope its gone the sceen I was talking about will maby get more on Monday if you don't find one closer to you

No sir, stand not required. I'm actually gonna take it apart.
More than anything, slimmer bezels and closer to 45cm x 45cm the better

Are you making a CCTV monitor or Smart mirror /calender?

Check this out -
Ahoy. Did a similiar project. Pity I disassembled a perfectly working 20 inch monitor because of excitement lol. Got the panel working but pity it didn't fit. Took apart a 15 inch recently but never got around to the logistics (taking the matte protective layer off and converting power to molex/usb).

Good luck with the project bud and send vids when you're done.

What you can do with it becomes endless with wallpaper engine installed.

Thanks! That's pretty much what I wanna attempt. Saw it on another video but didn't know where it was from
Youtube project snowblind. Quite a few vids up and a few guys actually make an effort to show step by step how it's done (majority doesn't).

I'v got a few old LCD's around. Think I might give this a bash next weekend as I'v got all the other things. (Perspex, white LED's , solder etc etc)

If you're in Ct, we can chat. More than happy to help with the soldering side of it. Always nice to do these things with someone. Only thing is all the LCd's I have are either 16:9 or 16:10. If you're LCD is LED (doubtful on the 3:4 aspect ratio) you can in theory use the LCD's LED strips which should be bright, but will likely run hot, so you might want to monitor temps before doing this, to see what effect the project has on the internal temps.

Was making a joke but I'll see about this coming weekend. I know your soldering technique is next level. You did the bios soldering on my 4th gen mobo last year :)

Ah yes! Thought your username looked familiar :) Let me know, even if its not next weekend.

@johnny_h have you thought about doing this with a 16:9 or 16:10 LCD? I did some size checks last night (Corsair T600 graphite case) and a ~22" LCD panel I stripped from a old screen & with my ATX mobo it would only fit horizontally (side panel isn't tall enough) but would allow you to see the main guts, except the PSU. I'v got a spare Windowed panel for my case which I would never use anyway, so I'll either use that or get some of my perspex sheet cut to make a full side panel.

A 19" 16:10 LCD would fit vertically quite well (allows you to see very top of mobo , down to the base of the PSU) and allow you to see the full width of an ATX mobo.

Thank, I might just do that if I don't come right.
I have a Core P3 which is pretty square(50cm x 47cm) so I was hoping I could get a screen for the bulk of the glass.
I don't mind the bottom part not being visible as it's where the PSU is located, but that's also exactly where I wanted to have my OSD.
Next to the mobo I'll have a 360 rad with rgb fans as well, so I want that to be lit up as well - though I guess I can just get that part tinted(so the RGB will shine through nicely) and have the monitor "over" the mobo section only

My other thought was to get a super cheap short throw projector inside of the case and have it projected onto the glass panel with a light white frosting, but that might be more hassle than it's worth(and I don't wanna be looking into a projector lens whenever I look into my PC)

Will a 19" Samsung Syncmaster 940BF 2ms work?

I might have access to one of those too (940bf) if either of you still looking

Thanks guys!
I think 940bf might work. According to the net, it's complete housing dimensions are 40.7 × 42.1 cm, is that correct?

No idea, its at my moms house, it is her old monitor (I gave her a 23" one). Will get it on Saturday and let you know.

Sent you a whatsapp.

Got the screen, works fine using DVI+HDMI adapter. The RGB adapter gives the image a yellowish tint. Not sure why.

Dimensions appear to be 40.7 x 33.5
