**** HOW TO MINE CRYPTOS **** Beginners Guide

Whats the point besides getting coins? What does organisers of the coin mining get? Do they make money by charging miners fees?

Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk

Pretty sure they charge the pools and exchanges or something, the founders do make money yes. They have to or else what is the point.

Cost of equipment vs coins mined. Which miners are making money. What is the profit if costs of equipment and electricity are deducted? Tax? Have seen one major player getting out of mining. And how has the bitcoin bank fheft fiasco affected mining?

SECTION 1

What this guide is NOT going to tell you an why

 • Which coin is most profitable - This varies everyday. It is impossible to predict. You need to check on a daily basis but read below.
 • How to mine with Nvidia GPU - Currently Nvidia have no GPU's fit for mining, hash/power is NOT profitable on any Nvidia card. (This might change a little bit on Maxwell Nvidia Is About To Steal The Cryptocurrency Mining Crown From AMD - Forbes
 • Is mining profitable or worth it - It all depends on you and therefore no one is going to beg you to mine, or try it.

You are more than welcome to stand on the side lines until you do some research of your own.

Will do some research and see how well it works. PM some advice there... :)

750ti just gets over 2.1mhash on average. 280x gets 3.1mhash. Most 280x selling for 3k most 750ti selling for 2.2-2.5k. 750ti still wins because of lower power consumption. But I have not ran that crappy cuda miner yet so cant really say if its a better mining card over all

280x gets 3.1mhash on X11, If this is true, I am going to mine with all my R9 280x cards again ...

for 3.1Mhash x6 R9 280x cards = 18.6Mhash is this true ?

Yes, that is true. Its ofcourse not the same as scrypt 18.6 mhash. I have only 280x cards mining x11

Oh and use the correct algo i.e. darkcoin-mod not normal darkcoin for your sgminer else you wont see the increase in performance

Is it profitable @ 18.6 mhash x11

As it's not scrypt 18.6 mhash sadly :(

Right now yes. Tomorrow? Who knows

Linux and bamt is a little bit different to setup. Google is your friend and bamt 1.6.2 is a must

Ooooh, I remember back when we actually mined with CPU's and GPU's.
Awww, the good ol' days.

I want to get into mining Dibzzz, if it's not too much of a hassle. Right now I want to try the "free faucet" thing and see if I can make just a Rand or two. Will that be possible/viable?

Hi :)

The only mining that is hip hop and happening right now is ETH, you can use your gaming computer to mine so you might already have the correct gear.

Thinking of starting a ETH mining help thread.

Hello!

Thanks for the feedback. If you do start the thread, please don't hesitate to link me in it! I've got a laptop at the office as well which isn't powerful by a long shot, but I guess the GT840m might be able to rack in a Rand or two a month? So far I've made...lemme check... 0.000061 Bitcoin from merely suckling at the teat of faucets for a minute or two a day.

I want to set the laptop up to mine when I want it to, for example when I'm out on surveys (which happens A LOT) or so forth. Anything to get the coins in, IMO. Probably seems useless, but eh.

I've installed Bitcoin Core by now, but it wants to do a ~80GB download which won't be allowed at the office hehe...

I wouldn't bother with Bitcoin core. If you want a good bitcoin wallet just use MultiBit (I don't like the HD version I find the Classic much better)

Been using Multibit as my main BTC wallet for years. It works great and no massive blockchain downloads.

I will link you sure :)

GT840 is not going to yield much ETH mining hashrate. I get 1.5 Mhash on my 2GB 7730m which is peanuts.

Is your GT 840 a 2GB version?

Yes, its the 2GB version. I'll give MultiBit a try quickly, thanks, see how it holds up!
