okay - heres a small game changer on the KZ IEM narrative - somebody posted this review somewhere and i had to share it - the new best kept $21 secret ever in terms of IEMs

best KZ IEM ever?

i also joined up in a Chi-Fi audio group over at Facebook where many guys are raving about these because they love the Sound Quality for the low price (just got the invite a few days ago) - not really worth it too much to join because most of those things are going to be special imports because they aren't easily available here - ie mostly brands we probably never ever would get here

But KZ is a known quantity and i definitely am gonna get a set of these to play around with - at $21 as they insist you can't really go wrong

I'm looking for some decent iem's to add to the collection any recommendations
I own : tin P1s , Blon bl03

look at importing Thieaudio - the specific model escapes me - ask Wolvebain which model he has - it seems to be well worth the money you pay for it - then i would also say if you importing something expensive just add that KZ ZEX for $21 that i spoke about above - it has a dynamic driver for bass and uses a different type of magnetostatic high and mid frequency driver - it might just be surprising at that low price

if you want stuff at the higher end of the scale - i really enjoy my AS16 because unlike the reviewers i actually use some EQ in my playback app (UAPP - Universal Audio Player Pro) - you can limit any sibilance by dropping 8khz and pick up a bit of bass and drop a tiny amount of treble and higher midrange - and then to me it sounds better and just as big and spacious as the fullsize headphones THAT I OWN (Sennheiser HD599 and Hifiman HE4XX)

you can currently get the AS16 for R1990 locally from c-plan audio which is around 66% of what i paid

KZ AS16 - C-Plan Audio special

Hmm, I don't see these locally.

yep - i checked and saw that no-one here has them - so will have to import - the Headphones Telegram group i am currently a member of is thinking of a group buy - will let you know if that goes anywhere - maybe you can hop in there too if you interested

though it will probably arrive to one person - then you might need to pay local shipping from him to you so if you not near him to collect then it might add around R100 to the total for postnet to postnet

Great write up.
I'm also currently in the market.
Check this local site for KZ IEMs. Cheapest new ones I've seen so far.
So @EdwardAdriaan has bought from them without hiccup it would seem.

So have you heard anything from your guy yet?

Sorry - all the guys seemed interested in a group buy but no-one took responsibility for it and the idea is seeming to fizzle out

I will let you know if interest gets revived but for now the idea has lost momentum there

Thing is though that the ZEX is fairly new so it might reach the local sellers soon - and it's priced around the same as the ZSN (non pro version) 🤷‍♂️

Might be worth the wait if you have something else to keep you going in the meantime

Yea I've dropped the okes at TrailTradingPost a message to see if/when they'll bring it in.
I've got a few options to keep me going in the meantime.

hey guys, so... I have a few questions.
Firstly I wouldn't consider myself an audiophile, I'm just a guy who likes good sound.

I've never been part of the audiophile community, I just buy commercial ready stuff that are considered good.
So whenever I come across audio and sound threads I see a whole lot of brands I've never heard or seen of before such as in this thread, and when I go search them the prices are fairly good compared to some of the high end commercial stuff that the general mass (such as myself) look at.

So to give an idea the first higher priced IEM's I got were the Shure SE215, I didnt manage to get a good listen since I took them on the plane with me the following day and I left them on the plane :'( before that I was using a bose in-ear earphones (I think thats what it was called) and it was really really crappy in the beggining and then it was just amazing! Not sure if it broke-in over time or if I just got used to the sound.

The IEM's I use at the moment are the Senheisser ie80's. The sound is a bit muffled to my taste but overall I enjoy them a lot, the challenge for me is in ear stuff seems to hurt my ears quite a bit.
I've never bought any high end Headphones before, at the moment I'm using the Sony XM3's and I'd say I'm satisfied with them. the sound was a bit of a let down when I tried them in the beggining.

I read a lot of reviews before buying stuff and recently I wanted to try wireless buds and got the galaxy buds pro as the sound appparently is pretty good. Boy was I let down, its not bad, but its not how everyone describes.

At this stage I think maybe my ears are broken, I have been eyeing the Shure 846 for a long time but its so expensive and I dont want to be let down. Overseas u can try things before you buy, but here the high end things are never available to try.

My question is, are the non- super commercial brands any good? the prices seem to be much better but how do they stack up compared in the sound department? Are they really that good and cheaper as well?

I've received a response. Let your okes know we're looking at R585-R605 and let me know if they're interested.

Anyone got a lead on a set of 1more triple driver in ears locally?

Also, been browsing amazon and came across these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B089QYY94K/ref=ewc_pr_img_1?smid=A37WW6B9H41IDK&psc=1
Reviews look good, has anyone come across them before and can give some feedback on performance?
The 1more is an amazing headset.
Check their local site: Buy Headphones Online - In-Ear, Bluetooth, Water resistant, Gaming - 1MORE

This is a good deal: E1001BT-GRY and E1025-PBK BUNDLE - 1MORE

I'm not familiar with the headset you linked.

Dont see the triple in ears on their website, its on amazon though so I might up ordering from there. Also keen on trying the Linklike quads, I initially wanted the 1more quads but the price difference is big. Just looking at adding a few small items to my order hence I searched for some in ears

The ones I linked are triple driver, albeit wireless. Their wired ones have been off the market for a while.

+1 to KZ ZEX group buy if it's still open
Ok it seems they'll bring in 5x with the initial order and take it from there.
So far it seems we are five interested on this forum, I'm not sure about @naughty 's okes.

I'd be keen to check them out as well. Great price for an IEM to leave at the office.
