Black Widow is the movie that covers the back story of the only female Avenger in the MCU, Black Widow. Golden star for you if you managed to figure that out yourself.
Please note that this is a very brief review and thus contains zero spoilers. Go watch the movie for that.
My main issues with the film are as follows.
The plot does not show us anything of true value. Watching this film answered no questions on the backstory of Black Widow, which is ironic considering that is the goal of said film.
The comedy sucks. To be fair, I wasn't expecting Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, but even then the film is not up to standard with a normal film that comes from the MCU.
The staff is very poorly chosen (said Gandalf). The director Cate Shortland is not experienced at all, and neither is the screenwriter the film is based on, Eric Pearson.
I also have to question the very existence of this film! Why are we getting a backstory of a character who is dead? Will she be returning? Is Natasha's sister going to be the next 'Black Widow"?! I don't fucking know.
I'm giving this film a very low 5/10. Even compared to films released in 2021 (i.e. The Tomorrow War) it doesn't look very good. At least The Tomorrow War was somewhat decent (nope, not doing a review on that one).
Feel free to express your opinions as I'd love to hear what you think.
